I’ve moved the Overseas chat to this thread, as none of that had anything to do with No.3 uniform.
But I also wanted to highlight this post, which has now been hidden behind all the ones just moved.
(FYI, when we move posts, they don’t maintain their chronological order by default, it’s a tickbox we have to [try to] remember to tick before we hit move…)

So what is the longest squadron name out there?
Google says 2531 (Burnham-on-Crouch)
I am not sure if they are sticking with it, but when they formed they were called 201 Overseas (Guernsey’s Own) Squadron, as they had a strong with affiliation with the RAF Squadron.
2204 (Chesham & Amersham) in Harts and Bucks must be close
So that’s two on 17 characters if Falmouth & District uses an ampersand, otherwise Falmouth beats it with an and.
2515 (Ringwood & Fordingbridge)
31 Characters with an &
Yeah, that’s going to be hard to beat
And it would need to use “and” in full, so you’ve got an extra two characters there!
Ah yes, they could be the winners with “and” written in full.

I wonder what Chat GPT would throw up for a possible centrepiece for that one if you took the name literally.
This is what it came up with as a starter for ten.
Brief was
“Please can you create a suitable heraldric badge for “907 Clowne Mining & Technical Institute Squadron Air training corps”
Use the ATC approved badge template. Suggest alternative centre piece designs
All designs must link to the local area / institute of the Sqn”
That wouldn’t be… an aircraft on a badge?? Oh the horror… Avert your eyes @OC.1324!
To be fair, I think it’s probably for the best you avoid looking at anything on that slide! Particularly the “all badges comply”

We’ve now sent @OC.1324 on a three day side quest training ChatGPT, copilot & other AIs how to create an ATC heraldic badge correctly
