RAFAC Attitude Survey 2020

Still haven’t got mine and I updated my email last night.

Apparently the last batch are being sent out by COP tomorrow.

Incorrect email records were not the only factor in the partial failure of the first tranche of emails!

Just completed my survey and answering all those questions made me realise quite how much I dislike a large part of the OC role and how irritated I am with Wing and above.

60+ hours per month (they should have had 80+ as an option too), but not enough of it organising or running activities for cadets. Time to say ‘No’ to lots more, ignore the irrelevant bits and delegate more where I can.

Is there an option for 30+ hours, with a “but I Arthur Jobbed it and ignored all the stuff I couldn’t be bothered with”?

Completion email:

this email is to confirm that you have completed the survey titled RAFAC CFAV Attitude Survey and your response has been saved. Thank you for participating.

If you have any further questions about this email, please contact Mxxxxx Pxxxxx on noreply@aircadets.org.

Do as much delegation if you can, it’s worth it and get people bader job accounts so they get the emails and deal with them.
Also don’t read every email as they suck you in.

I would also suggest not linking emails etc to your phone and restrict things as much as possible to parade nights. Not having the ping/ding/buzz/tune dictating your cadet life is not a bad thing.

It was put together by the CI on the 'ask a question ’ section on valuing our volunteers… the one who offered her help to do a survey a year ago.

I’m not hopeful on quality feedback and especially not hopeful on anything productive coming out of it.

Lord preserve me.

Perhaps someone will offer to wipe HQAC cars off next or do their dishes.

And yes. To all you woke younglings out there I am fed up with the at HQAC.

Take this latest zero communication space camp nonsense… arghhhhhhhhhh

Couldnt agree more. Thankless task. I’ve started the same as of jan 2020.
Got asked by a wso why we weren’t going to ‘x’ event. Told them bluntly because the admin burden is too great and I have better things to do than attend a ‘mandatory’ wing event, simply to sate your and wing staffs needs to ponse around in number 1s… just because you’re not on Sqns and want the excuse to shout at people and be saluted.
He didnt know what to say.
Instead we are taking the cadets to an airshow.

100% improvement there!

Nonsense is too polite a word; don’t they every learn?? The continual “flash it up on soshull meejah” first, to the detriment of properly cascaded information / full documentation, needs to be stamped out.

You’re not wrong!
But I keep getting flagged by scroats on here for using harder words.

Total shambles the way these super treat events are released.

Being a cynic… (no never)… I’m almost tempted to say that the 4 cadets have been picked already.

Ah, I didn’t say swear - there are plenty of suitable adjectives, etc, to describe HQAC’s total inability to focus on a suitable communication strategy. Less politely, but within the forum rules, you could possibly say that they are still drinking the Kool-aid; look up the Johnstone Massacre of 1978 - the expression is very tastelessly used in business - sometimes by people who don’t know the reference(!)

  • to describe people following a cause blindly. :astonished:

Or, go with dripping sarcasm - I like Wiki’s definition

"…a sharp, bitter, or cutting expression or remark; a bitter gibe or taunt.’

Hit them with a bitter gibe!

The CFAV will have been for sure

Absolutely beautiful!

Email was in my trash folder 2hrs after I said it hadn’t arrived.

Id like to see the responses to the OC questions and if it’s not just me who feels the same about theirs

Also had our OC asking if we had all received the survey and if we had already answered, wants to have a quick ‘staff chat’ before cadets arrive next parade night

Is this survey truly anonymous though? Perhaps someone with an IT background can explain, but given we received the automated email naming and thanking us in person for completing the survey, there most therefore be some means for our IP address to be logged and linked to the original email etc, it the survey completion to be recorded fully? Or am I getting all a little big brother?

The invites were sent out containing a personalised token associated with the individual.

I would imagine that the “anonymous” element relates to the external agency not knowing the survey recipients. The survey system informs HQAC It that “Token X has completed the survey” and the HQAC systems can send out the Thank You email.

What HQAC do with their list of tokens and their respective completion status is a question I cannot answer. Clearly these are associates with individuals and can allow invitations and completions to be logged and recorded. Surveys which have not been started could have their invitations re-sent in case the originals have become lost or forgotten.

I’m not sure why people are concerned about whether it is anonymous or not.

  1. This is a volunteer position.
  2. If you don’t say what you think to direct line managers face to face then that says a lot about you and not them.
  3. Honesty is the best policy, the organisation cannot penalise people for asking their view and then not liking the response.

The link looks like a generic one . It should be anonymous

Well said
