As the sky article mentions Tim Davies YouTube channel - hereā€™s the link to the video where itā€™s revealed.

Makes you think what other practises are be conducted in the wider RAF including cadet world.

Shame hes such aā€¦

Yep concur. But the only way you can deal with people like Tim D is be honest & straight forward.

Everytime youā€™re caught doing something unethical & then try to wriggle out of it you just put another 50p in the idiots.

So, bringing back this thread with the report. The report is pretty damning. It shows the RAF did discriminate.

https://raf.mod.uk/documents/pdf/RAF-Recruiting-and-Selection-Non-Statutory-Inquiry-Report/

I recommend reading the first 10 pages of that report.

Also, can we appreciate that the RAF (CAS) have/has come out to the front of this, admitted wrong doing, properly apologised and promised to improve. No hiding it away waiting for a random FOI. ā€œHereā€™s our report. We screwed up. We want to do better. Weā€™re sorry.ā€

Iā€™m part way through reading it and the key takeaway is that our leadership think we are stupid. Cpls and junior officers were raising issues with this to be told back in your box. Sound familiar?

Can we please review the suitability of Recommendation 7 for RAFAC?

Wigston left Rich Knighton with an unexploded bomb on his desk when he retired. I do wonder if the RAF is one dentist less.

The bottom line is that the politically correct mob got it wrong! The truth is that they discriminated against some good candidates on the basis that they were white and male. Totally unacceptable in my view. Good of F/Gp Capt R&S for doing the right thing. Iā€™d work for her any day.

Right idea the wrong way round.

Itā€™s right to want to balance the numbers, they just didnā€™t go about it the right way.

Nothing to do with being some dog whistle insult.

Unless you have conscription, then that will never happen, same as the police.

I hope she takes the RAF to an employment tribunal and sues them for constructive dismissal, the same as Group Captain Wendy Williams did for sex discrimination.

Head of RAF Medical services at the moment is both a nurse and a woman, which is something Wendy Williams fought for!

Police I can see being more nuanced at least from a gender split perspective, but I disagree that youā€™d need conscription for the military.

Itā€™s a question of culture, practices, and marketing.

Unless itā€™s time of war, you shouldnā€™t need conscription but if you want the forces to reflect society and those volunteers are not coming forward, what do you then do?

Cheshire police got themselves badly burnt doing what the RAF did.

If she hasnā€™t already, sheā€™s probably way out of time

Reasonable grounds for delaying tribunal awaiting results of internal investigation?

Plus I have a feeling sheā€™ll be offered what ever sheā€™d reasonably get at tribunal, without taking the legal action, because the RAF have admitted they were in the wrong.

It really should be, but no. Not generally.
Time limits in employment law are ridiculously short compared to general civil law. 3 months compared to 3 years for personal injury, or 6 years in debt claims.

Huh, TIL! I had always assumed it was like the 3 year limitation period for personal injury claims. Can be extended for a number of reasons.

I guess if youā€™re planning to sue for constructive dismissal, get the ball rolling on day one. Who knows, she may already have that ball rolling.

Thatā€™s the advice generally. Better to stick a claim form in, and apply to amend later.

The delays in getting to final hearing are such that you have a few, well, years, to play with.
