I think this is an acceptable exception.
I actually worked this week with this guys uncle…
His problems are going to start when he gets home!
Rekon Govt will just move whole areas into T4 after Christmas.
Something will have to change pretty sharpish as currently you’ve got massive areas of tier 4 bordering tier 2 areas which doesn’t make sense to me!
Bordering T2 -> T4 shouldn’t matter, given you can’t travel outside of T4.
Except that people will.
The poor handling of this has made me really want to move to NZ in the future. They seem to have it pretty much nailed on how to run a country… I know there’s less people etc blah blah
But demonstrated decisiveness, clarity and support.
You can though. They’ve said they are “encouraging people not to travel outside of tier 4”. They haven’t banned it. That’s the problem, most of the restrictions have no teeth behind them which is why they are ignored
I’m assuming that when the SI actually exists that they will make it part of the legislation.
I’m on the Snitch Car later this week so I’m sure I’ll get a full briefing then!
Same as they did with Tier 3 when they announced the new tiers a few weeks back. All main routes into Liverpool City Centre were rammed with traffic from greater Manchester so they could do their Christmas shopping and now cases on the rise again 🤦
I have family in NZ. It truly baffles them the way we’ve handled all of this.
Looks like 33 pages of pure excitement, I’ll wait for the force lawyers to translate it into English for me.
Yep. Because most of it is correcting or adding to the original legislation it makes it a nightmare to understand. Plus there are loads of rules and then loads of exceptions to those rules then there are exceptions to those exceptions and so on. Bloody nightmare.
I’ve tried to struggle through but it’s not an easy read!
The old man is particularly annoyed about Christmas and the better half and I not being able to visit and have dinner, especially as we work together!
Laid at 6am, live at 7am!! Needs approval by both Houses by 01 Feb, on current sitting plans, but this deadline will move earlier if there’s a recall…
A much more learned person than me has suggested:
13(1)(a) permits takeaways 0500-2300. 1(b) then permits takeaways 2300-0500, but only where the conditions in 13(2) are met. The conditions in 13(2) do NOT apply 0500-2300, so during those hours customers DON’T need to pre-order and CAN enter the premises to buy takeaways.
Confused??
This is (I think!) less restrictive than Nov lockdown regs were.
Bordering T2 → T4 shouldn’t matter, given you can’t travel outside of T4.
can’t travel outside of tier 4 is easier said than done…a friend on FB posted this yesterday highlighting where the “border” is so soft it is a road junction…
Can we try and focus on the cadet aspects of this pandemic please rather than just discussing the nuances of tiers.
My reasonable worst case scenario is no face to face until Easter. So I will be dusting down my VPN ideas as well as tweaking our original plans.
If Cadets is paused (and especially as U18 sport allowed) I expect to lose further Cadets in the new year sadly.
In all seriousness and being Mr doom and gloom
I think it’s safe to say 80% of the org will be building from the ground up again… Cadets and staff have and will continue to leave. Activity owners and leaders will leave so we need to find new SME and Quald staff… Its going to be an uphill battle until at least 2023
