Pretty unambiguous here to me.
Other forums everything is only 5 posts away from being called or having referenced the Nazis.
On here it’s only 5 posts until the over 18 cadet discussion comes up…!
“Can also” not MUST or WILL.
As a staff member I “can also” supervise overnight, but I don’t have to.
Splitting hairs a little too much here I think.
Let’s wait for the announcement shall we?
I’ve had the following from my WEXO (SW)
I have been asked to advise all staff that as we are Tier 1 and Tier 2 areas we can return to parading for those units that were previous authorised to do so. More detailed information can be found on the National Youth Agency website.
Please take care out there, you and your families are more important than the RAFAC
Of note is that there are no Tier 3 areas in our Wing, and perhaps only B&G have some areas, so I wouldn’t take this to mean that Tier 3 won’t be allowed rather just not relevant to the audience
Comms from SW Reg Comdt says back to parading, subject to tier restrictions. Confirms though that +18 Cadets are in the staff bubble and treated as instructors.
That’ll be a trip to the Squadron and not the pub tomorrow evening then
In essence, the B in B&G is in Tier 3. Most of the G is in 2. (South Glos is Tier 3, as is North Somerset, you know, counties that don’t really exist.)
Subject to what tier restrictions? They all map to the Amber level of the NYA guidance (apart from O18s)
Whilst they map, it’s been fed back that staff feel uncomfortable operating youth clubs whilst in Tier 3. Not necessarily RAFAC, but across the wider youth services arena - in particular volunteers rather than paid youth workers/staff.
The prospect of compromised school bubbles etc has been a reoccurring theme. And whilst NYA guidance said one thing, there is a groundswell from practitioners that is saying something quite different.
This is key, and while some us want to open we need to do so safely with sufficient staff coverage where they are happy to be doing activity rather than press ganged.
And that is fair enough - but the NYA has always been clear that it is their decision to open; no-one is telling them to. If they don’t feel it’s safe, much like our own organisation says, don’t open.
So I guess I’m asking what of the tier restrictions are being applied to @alexw area. Is someone on high saying it’s not safe for us to open in Tier 3?
Correct!
Basically we are some of the very lucky to be in tier one. We also were able to get a number of F2F parades in before this lockdown. These were very well received, and Staff, Cadets and Parents were comfortable with this. We have carried on with VPN’s, and will get back to F2F unless something changes to prevent us.
I think we’re missing the question. You said SW RC said back to parades, subject to tier restrictions.
What tier restrictions are there that might prevent returning to parading?
This. NYA said their guidance applies to all 3 tiers.
This is the potential issue again. A completely acceptable issue though and I understand people’s feelings.
We, in Tier 3 SW, just got told we can go back and staff cadets count as instructors.
Still not had any kind of update/announcement here!
Sorry misread. Said back to parading in all tiers.
My bad. Very early start and difficult day at work coupled with a quickly read email.
Nothing heard for me. We are Tier 2, had to postpone a F2F parade night for this evening as no concrete guidance from HQRAFAC.
Sqn OC’s in my wing had a message sent out last night repeating the message from RC SW.
