This.

and now the MOD have said that Reserve Forces and Cadet Forces team have prohibited attendance other than as civilian spectators

Very shocking communication this time round. For us with no Bader accounts. Would of been nice to get sent a copy to read.

Everyone has access to a Bader account; you just need to log into your unit generic account.

That’s a very long story and a very sore subject. Trying to get access for a long time now.

Which is fair enough, but I think it’s not on to blame the comms when the issue is clearly a local one around giving you access to the requisite channels.

I agree with redowling on this one. They pushed it via CoC this time after the backlash of using social media last time. Admittedly they should have the announcement on Bader quicker than they did but internal comms is better than external and opening the flood gates.

Local issues of RCs or Wing Commanders not passing it on in a timely fashion is not the HQ fault.

Totally agree about RCs, it’s their bread and butter work, but OCs have day jobs like the rest of us, so some may not have picked up straight away.

I agree, they are volunteers also and should be afforded the same as we would afford any other volunteer. I would certainly expect a notice like that to be passed within a few hours though considering the gravity of what it is saying and it should just be a case of forwarding an email. They shouldn’t really have to add much to the letter.

But this is why there should be no forwarding going on at all. It may be the RCs day job. But their job is not watch inbox and forward emails. They may be off and about somewhere else, the same way we don’t expect a reply from an email sent to HQAC within a day. And OC wings, it’s definitely unfair to be relying on them to forward emails within minuets of receiving them.
They should have used announcements, like they did this afternoon.

However, despite that, can we appreciate that this was at least better then finding out of Facebook or Twitter first? This is a step in the right direction. Also it was a decent letter with some detail, rather than what we used to get which might be an email just saying to stop.

I think progress is being made.

I did notice that on the SharePoint announcements of the national “pause for Covid”, there is no mention of not putting/sharing of the notice of social media. Just saying #getoutofjailfreecard

Arguably anything on the RAFAC announcements is OS by default according to the top of that page, but yeah, nothing there (on the announcement it’s self) about not putting on social media either!

The story has been out over 24 hours, probably not so worried about it going on socials.

Just saying…

Sounds reasonable as it gets over the winter period and on paper at least keeps people in jobs and I suspect the view is they may stay in them. The other side is make them unemployed NOW. Happy Christmas.

I’d rather be skint than dead

i Assume you ve never had to throw yourself on the mercies of the benefits system. Take my word for it being skint is no fun If your dead you no longer are aware of anything. The reaction of the powers that be to COVID will in my view lead to a massive increase in suicides especially among the young .

Your assumptions are incorrect…

This aged well!

I’m genuinely concerned that this England Centric approach for November could cost so many staff in Wales/Scotland given how thin desire is from some to return any this could be the final nail.
