Preparing to Return to F2F Activity... Again/Still

It’s ok, it’s on Instagram too.

Better but still awful.

Email out to say that MOD have green lighted going back. Then say that WHQs will then contact each sqn commander to tell them when RFCA will green light going back in the building.

WHQs then report back to Region with a go/no go who can then use the Regional SM to post to the masses or delegate it to wings/sqns where the whole region isn’t ready.

If this was a business it would be like them saying “we are open!!!” Only for customers to turn up and find zero stock on the shelves and zero staff.

I almost wish HQAC would go back to the days when they tried to ban SM. Our life would be much better.

That sycophantic series.of posts only made sense when the OP revealed they were Civ Com. Only someone who doesn’t have to deal with the fallout could be so dim.

So much tongue biting to not respond.

Also apparently DofE Expeditions where you sleep at home are now a thing? Has anyone asked the DofE?!

DofE have made amendments to expedition requirements, but I’m not in the loop well enough to rattle them off to you.

It’s DofE that have said that’s fine…familiarise yourself with ‘DofE with a Difference’

It came from DofE. Along with doing Gold in your garden or wherever you fancy and a few others. They’ve also removed DofE season…

I’d seen most of the changes “volunteering for your family” etc but hadn’t seen that one.

It’s almost like DofE is a business and isn’t that concerned with standards as long as you sell their licences. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I see that the facebook announcement has now been edited so that it actually makes the situation clear…

One wonders whether it might be prudent for the PAID and therefore supposedly ‘professional’ media officer to consider writing the message in a clear way before publishing it in the first place?
I mean… It’s just an idea…

Steady on.

I think in this instance (and every other HQAC media blunder) it’s more than justified.

This is getting complicated :joy:

This is exciting news but it doesn’t mean that air cadets units will be re-opening this week -

This sentence alone on the original post would have made a world of difference. It takes the post from a “Welcome back, see you on Tuesday night” to “We’ve got permission but there’s a boat load of work to put in first”.
I think that’s what’s annoyed me about this post, the original made it sound far too much like we’re back to parading in a week, or maybe two, when the reality is that isn’t likely for at least another month or two.
A nice happy post saying we’ve got permission in theory, but working hard to get there would have been great.

The original twitter post has also been deleted and replaced with a screen grab of the updated Facebook post

All in all, another triumphant day for HQAC’s social media team…

But what about their reputation?
