Preparing to Return to F2F Activity... Again/Still

They can’t, the Comdt letter is clear it is personal choice.

Understand that and not trying to be argumentative, people do realise masks is not about protecting the wearer it is the other way around so I suspect there will be a few that won’t attend because of it so the respect needs to be both ways, and masks but no distance may be a suitable compromise to get everyone back together again.

Not their own spin individual squadrons may have their own reason for keeping measures and appropriate assessment is to retain certain measures, if you cannot apply it maybe a few people take up your beloved sport of jogging. The decision no doubt will split opinions but all parties may need to compromise

Social distancing guideline is confusing.

F2F document states 1m+ and last update, social distancing outside was removed.

Jan update document states requirement for social distancing was removed in earlier guidance.

Are they getting confused between F2F guidance and NYA guidance?

I know of Wing examples of “best practice we’re practical” in the book became “thou shalt on pain of death and don’t you dare question me” attitude

My employer has had masks in force whenever away from one’s personal desk since August 2020 and we’ve been doing twice weekly LFT for 12+ months
Lack of legal requirements or not (although worth noting they are required again in shops) no one has kicked up a fuss about them

Can we not give people ideas? If we’re told it’s personal choice, it’s personal choice!

So does our work place, unfortunately for some on here it is a case that they don’t like being told what to do and think they can do what they want without respect to others, my OC will be asking people to wear masks to protect the staff. The main reason is that the cadet hut is small so will be in compliance with todays advice. Ultimately the OCs hold the risk locally and if people don’t like it they can chose not comply and reap the reward.

They do not.

OCs ensure compliance with the rules set by the Chain of command.

Comply with the rules, and all is well. Don’t comply, and risk becoming personally liable. That is all. Your OC misunderstands their importance…

I would politely be saying no.

Would guess that as most would as they dont want to respect other peoples concerns and don’t understand that masks are to stop the spread of droplets not to prevent receiving them but everyone is an expert

Sqn OCs (and I am one) are there to uphold the policies of the org. Not create new ones.

Saftey is key.
But so is our primary mission of delivering youth training.

I’ll be following the Corps Policy - Masks are personal choice

Unless my RA for a room determines they are needed.

Personal choice, as you say, doesn’t help as it’s for others not the wearer. But we are following gov guidelines

So what if the building RA says wear masks. The govt have made what is safe as clear as mud.

Wasn’t this your exact argument a few posts ago, but without the RA

Not sure if I’m missing something, but what happens now if a Cadet tests positive?

Although I accept this…OCs and CFAV do write RAs and thus determine “Control Measures” so they can influence what people do to control risks.

exactly like this

They isolate as per government rules.

Which is nice, but my local AEF has been posting ads trying to recruit pilots! Probably not going to be any flying for us for a while.
