Preparing to Return to F2F Activity... Again/Still

I don’t know, I’ve seen cadets eat crisps… Sometimes I can hear them from different post codes

“…if you can hear chewing, test your distance with a well aimed slap”

Distancing was a farce even in the height last year. Queue up as dictated outside a shop, go inside and it was the same scrum as it ever was, even with shops controlling numbers.
At the sqn I’m on masks as a personal preference and play to the distancing by have chairs spread out. The WSO came down last week and said nothing, he wore a mask but chatted with staff and cadets as normal. The cadets were honest about their feelings.

I hope someone, somewhere, knows who you are and sees this and then dismisses you from the organisation for a breach of health and safety. And the organisation will be better for it.

The WSO visited said nothing then or since, so he knows. I got the impression from his lack of comment about what we are doing and the way he spoke other sqns are doing the same. If he’d said I should be doing it by the book, I’d be doing it just for an easy life from the powers that be.

Everywhere else is masks as a personal preference and distancing non existent.
For weeks before and after we meet the cadets have been gathering sans masks and not distancing. They come in and from their general demeanour they weren’t happy, and just went along with it.

Driving home, I see them outside various take aways and when I’m out around the town generally no masks or distancing. I imagine their schools are like most, wear a mask if you like and no distancing. Staff at work have said it has been a joy to see the kids mingling freely and not in playground bubbles or restricted to one classroom.

We are increasingly out of step with the rest of society.

No visitors get into the school without doing an LFT, I know as I’m one of the testers.

Some of us more than others…

ACF are now basically back to normal with a few “covid responsible” measures left. Social distancing and masks really only needed indoors in poorly ventilated areas.

Don’t hold you’re breath.

(Caveat, might want to hold your breath in badly ventilated areas)

Sounds like a degree of sense, how easy is it to transfer?

Also do you have 144s in service? Found out post completing the admin that our parent station has less than 10 and the gauges are broke and order since March.

Time I won’t recover

I’m not sure on that. Technically they were removed from the syllabus so are now competition only and I haven’t seem them in a while. It might take a while for things to catch up.

Even if they don’t have L114 they can go gliding it would seem so you can still scratch that itch @themajor

So…I’m enforcing masks, 1m social distancing and max room capacities when delivering meaningful training in the very controlled environment that is my squadron building. Meanwhile, this is going on just a few miles down the road…something not right!

Looks like a solid festival to be fair

I think it’s called real life, opposed to the made up ignoring the real world BS we are supposed to muppet along with. There could be cadets and staff in that picture, getting stuck into the action with gay abandon.

We’re an organisation where people can get worked up over whether you put your hat on while leaving a building or before leaving a building, masks should be effortless.

I once saw a kid screamed at for eating a sandwich with a beret on. You’re right. Masks should be pee easy.

Was just about to post that.

Not quite an apology, but probably the closest thing to admission of guilt we could expect.

You know what, I’ll take that.
