Preparing to Return to F2F Activity... Again/Still

New command personnel who arent waiting for zero covid.

Zero covid is as likely as zero common cold.

It’s something we are going to have to get used to and live with, just like flu.

Oh well.

Guidance was just updated again on Friday:

‘Physical distancing requirement is 1 m indoors. No physical distancing is required outdoors.’

Was this the NYA guidance?

For Scotland it won’t be.

Youth Scotland for us :slightly_smiling_face:

Not sure when they updated their guidance but latest Return to F2F guidance was released on Friday to cover changes for Scotland.

Not on Sharepoint as far as I can see. Where did you get the updated guidance?

Look on the Scotland & NI site.

COVID-19
22 Jul 21 Release of RAFAC Rtn to F2F Trg Guidance V5.1 (Scot) Inffo includes change to social distancing measures.
19 Jul 21 Northern Ireland Addendum V3 released

Return to Face-to-Face Training V5.1 (Scot)

That’s mental. Why wouldn’t it be in the main site?

Link - Scotland & NI Document Library : COVID-19 SNI Specific Information

This is absurd, because if I wanted to run an activity over the border I’d use the National Guidance that is a Controlled Document, and follow the Scotland Specific guidance there, which appears isn’t current.

The main document should be updated and re-issued to ALL for a change in a single jurisdiction ( Wales / Scotland / England / Northern Ireland) rather than having regional versions buried on SharePoint.

Yep.

Another total cluster brought to us by the ineptitude of HQAC…

Comes in a different paint scheme this time, but same old ominshamble clusterfudge.

There seems to be this misguided assumption that people don’t work across regional boundaries, which is obviously wrong. Bad configuration control on the organisation’s part that, and it puts volunteers at risk potentially of breaking the law whilst following in good faith the formally published (i.e. controlled documents) guidance.

Ok so question…

Why has Scotlands checklist been released when the others havent?

Doesnt HQAC take the laws from Govt then guidance from NYA etc and formulate a master document?

All 4 ‘juristictions’ could have been released at the same time by now?

Or is there an additional step for England I’ve missed?

NYA doesn’t cover Scotland IIRC

Hence the “etc”…

I mean one central document sounds great in principal but could you imagine the communication required to pull that off :joy:

(I do fully agree a single document stored in one central location that everyone follows should be what we are all following)

There is one, we are following it except it turns out someone has decided to create their own document and not host it centrally in our shared document library, which is why we’re all annoyed.

That and another day goes by when the ACF and SCC have updated guidance and we don’t.

Has anyone checked the Wales & West Site for a specific guidance document?

YouthLink Scotland (NYA Equivalent) guidance came out earlier and gave time for HQ SNI to catch it too. NYA guidance isn’t out yet I don’t think(if it is, it’s recent), as they’re still debating how to safely deliver youth work…then HQAC needs to digest which will be fun too. HQAC has to abide by NYA guidance as a subscriber member.

It is on V7, released 15 July.

The NYA guidance was issued on Thursday 15 July following their Webinar on this guidance which is available for anyone to access here.

Previous England rules were for 1m+ (+ can just be the wearing of a mask) however RAFAC rules was 2m with masks indoors, so that Wales / Scotland wasn’t in a worse position due to geography, and now we have the exact opposite, poor old England.
