Plus we have 2m and masks indoors not 1m+
With social distancing and mask wearing now confirmed as being planned to be dropped in Englandshire from 19 Jun, how many months do you think it’ll be before RAFAC rules catch up?
We are waiting until we get back properly as the ad hoc of bubbles, some aren’t or their parents aren’t happy with them attending. So while you can guess, it is still their decision to stay or go. I’ve got staff still pondering their future, due to employment problems as two still on furlough.
Same as all previous answers. It’ll be a couple of weeks for the NYA guidance to be issued and then our internal guidance to be updated to reflect that.
If best practice is suggested to be to retain mask wearing then we may keep them?
Laws the law.
Once it’s no longer legally enforceable that ane second.
Bye bye tape on floor, pointless signage, masks and bubbles.
Hello normal life and getting on with it.
Put the nay sayers in the place.
They dont want to be in a place where they csnt hide behind tape and signage… THEYA DONT NEED TO ATTEND.
Everyone else welcome.
Why? Official decision is 7 days prior to the 19th so on the 12th.
Just as it would have been last month.
If the blessed NYA or HQAC cant untwist their knickers in that time… they never will.
What more info does anyone need that this from.bbc…
This is due to take place on 19 July - although this will only be confirmed on 12 July.
From step four:
- Face masks will no longer be legally required
- The 1m-plus social distancing rule will end
- All legal restrictions on numbers meeting indoors and outdoors will be removed
- All businesses, including nightclubs, can reopen
- Table service rules at bars and restaurants and venue check-in requirements will be scrapped
- The limit on the number of named visitors to care homes will be lifted
- Capacity limits for concerts, theatres and sports events will also be removed
- Guidance instructing people to work from home where possible will be lifted
- Council powers to enforce rules will expire
FREEEEEEDDDDOOOOOOOOMMM
Do you realise that:
- Covid is still very much a threat and hasn’t disappeared
- We still have a duty of care to staff and cadets
Yes of course.
Do you realise that once the law is changed back, we can get on with delivering youth services properly to a generation who will be scarred for many years by the effects of covid.
Do you realise that vaccinations have worked? The death rate is low. So infections dont matter.
Do you realise we cant stay in a near police state existence forever?
19th July. Freedom day.
If they’re that vulnerable our current guidance covers it… they shouldn’t attend.
A chnage in law wont change that. If they are still that vulnerable, they still shouldn’t attend.
Sucks for them. But society as a whole cant be restrained for the sake of a tiny minority.
At last call, the NYA still anticipate some restrictions remaining for the youth sector regardless of the rest of the country.
Removing the legal requirement to wear masks doesn’t make requiring masks illegal and indeed, even if the NYA were to relax, any members organisation such as ours could choose to continue.
Try telling that to the thousands of people (including young people) across the UK with long covid
Hardly.
Of course they do… before COVID noone had even heard of them.
Once they go green, they will go back into obscurity.
They have never had so much attention.
Honestly with the mask wearing part I see no reason why it shouldn’t stay mandatory. It has very little negative effect but can have a massive positive effect!
Okay let everything else open up to the max to get the economy rolling and make more things available, but I see no need to stop wearing a mask. And it’s all well and good people saying the likes of “you wear yours then, but I wont wear mine”. But too many people still fail to realise the mask wearing isnt about protecting the wearer, it’s about the wearer not spreading.
Okay that was a bit of a rant
TL;DR, we should keep wearing masks.
Yeah, that’s a bit much really… It’s not been that extreme, certainly not recently.
If I added MAGA and vote Trump… I guessing i would push all your buttons?
Society has to get on and return to absolute normality, before we reap the real damage of high inflation and high interest rates to counter.
I’m guessing most on here dont want mortgage repayments to double over night?
Personally, I can’t wait until we can safely get rid of masks. I bloody hate them.
But if we want to play, we have to play by the rules; whatever they may be.
What does any of that have to do with mask wearing and keeping some restrictions for youth organisations?
It starts with mask wearing and ends with us locked in our houses. With 1meter plus distancing somewhere inbetween.
It all has to go.
Anyways, got a bubbled parade to run.
Hopefully for one of the last times.
Ta
this is clearly an issue, but (with my purely statistical head on) just to add:
- almost every viral infection can continue into long versions - but COVID was the first one given the name “long” - https://www.bma.org.uk/news-and-opinion/long-covid-we-ve-been-here-before, and epidemiologists will be debating for years about whether long covid has a higher relative prevalence than the long version of any other virus
- what we don’t know yet is what impact vaccinations have on the chance that any given individual will contract long covid (and we don’t understand the physiological reasons why some people are more prone to long covid than others)
Becuase that’s roughly the timescale that has occurred for every step before now?
