All my medals had to be remounted every time I got a new clasp for my VRSM anyway. Unlike the CFM bars, the ribbon has to be threaded theough the clasp rather than the bar sewn on to the ribbon. Fortunately, the Coronation Medal makes it six for me and so I can claim the costs back.
I am mistaken!
How odd that you can be awarded a clasp you can’t wear. If you have a lot of medals they start hanging from a higher and higher point so the extra length from all those clasps is probably helps hide your button (for the gents anyway)!
Im only 2 years away from my first clasp!!
The colours are very NATO-esque, but I’ve not been able to find one that matches directly.
I’ve never seen that ribbon before. Could it be a foreign award, I wonder?
Just been googling and the closest I can get is the UNMOP medal, awarded by the UN. Even then, the stripes on the UNMOP medal are broader than those shown in the above image.
Its either a bling ribbon or of foreign origin as I can’t see it in the UK medal ribbon chart.
I see what you mean about the UN MOP but agree the colours and spacing is different. I’m wondering if it was done as a commemorative medal by one of the Buy Your Own medals companies
Being able to stick HM’s armourial achievement on your website should come with terms.
Terms like not creating Mickey Mouse medals for literally anything you can dream up.
What…is…this…FILTH.
Wow, just wow.
Is there one available for me having gone through ATR Winchester?
It is amazing how many medals you can get …
…but you can only wear them on your pyjamas
Does attendance as ATF count as being a student at RAF Cranwell? Asking for a friend…
I have done IOT, FTS, OIC and SCC
Does that mean I get a medal and 3 bars?
No, you get four ribbons interspersed with any others you may have in date order.
Just s thought, but is that cranwell one for the americans? Can they wear it as part of their training rack?
Oooh that’s an interesting point
‘Produced for RAF Cranwell for purchase by students at the college - no permission to wear in the UK.’
So who does where?
