New Smoking and Drinking Policy

Looking at this from a slightly different angle; do they know that alcohol was consumed? Or have they read material that said drinks would be available, but don’t have proof that anyone did actually have a drink?

But what does it matter if alcohol was consumed. This is at someone’s house. A non-RAFAC event.

The other interesting point if VRT had children in the RAFAC are they not allowed a drink at home or even to attend a BBQ organised for or by their parents for friends?

This really does open a can of worms of where does the RAFAC end and the normal world begins?

I’d love to know if there was a video recording made of this if there was a confrontation and it was sent to Soecial K and OC 22 Group.

Anyone going to a party usually contributes to the event by either taking a slab or a bottle.

Tell the Sector Commander to stick it where the sun don’t shine. It’s nothing to do with him what happens at a private event within a private home. Absolute load of tosh!!!

What about 18 year old cadets going to the pub on a Saturday evening after a long day at work in McDonalds. Surely, as cadets they are not allowed to have a drink after work.

Interview without tea and biscuits tonight…well if I can be bothered to go. What with the so called 5 hours duty on Monday, I’ve done my 12 hours monthly commitment a few times over already. Cadets are off shooting and climbing so a night in with OC Home Command and a cold beer is a much better proposition that listening to a jumped up WSO who is so out of his depth I wonder how he’s allowed out by himself.

Careful not to even think about anything to do with the RAFAC or you might get told off again!

Turns out, from experience, that it can get complicated if there happens to be a CFAV in the pub minding their own business at the same time.

Separately, as squadron CFAVs we used to go to the pub after a parade night (after changing out of uniform). The OC’s daughter and Adj’s son, both staff cadets, would often accompany their parents. It ended up with an investigation that went at least as high as OC Region.

That includes telling the WSO that you can’t make the meeting.

Clear glass, about 50ml of Lipton’s.

In plain view on the desk.

Bonus points for having a spare to offer across.

Say you will only deal with paid staff & not volunteers.

Happy to give account to WExO, RCOS or RC but not volunteers.

Submit complaint form against said WSO on grounds of bullying/harassment.

Just be aware that the paid staff may have been told just the information “you had a cadet event & you had a booze up with alcohol available”

Which would prompt them to (rightly) investigate but then agree facts as not originally reported.

On a serious note here, @VirtualRealityTrooper it appears you’ve been invited to a ‘meeting’ or ‘interview’ that is clearly forming part of some sort of investigation. On what basis is this investigation being done? Have you been offered an AO? Has your OC been offered an AO, assuming they are the one being investigated?

If you are both being ‘interviewed’ as part of this investigation, are there copies of pers 1-12s being given to you/your OC as a record of interview?

If they give you a ‘verbal warning’, make sure to ask for a pers 1-17 as a record of such warning.

If they are really going to start this mess and ‘interview’ you, as you’ve said above, make sure it’s being done properly. ACP 20 has all the rules around this. They can’t make it up as they go. There is due process to follow.
