Interesting to see that they have included the badge for the Air Cadet Pilot Navigation Training Scheme (ACPNTS), which, according to my WAvnO is dead in the water along with the AEF scheme.

Nothing like a complete absence of joined up thinking to remind you it’s the Air Cadets.

No.
But having a flying badge for staff with professional flying licences in an air and space themed org is a maybe.

But has been discussed to death alongside O18s, bren guns and whether vorders looks good in a set of 1s…

Search is your fri2nd.

I’m not sure it’s a maybe. Everything I’ve heard is that it’s a massive foxtrot oscar whenever anyone has raised it through the channels

IMO, Anyone doing this should immediately be fired…

Out of a cannon…

Into the sun.

Good day :face_with_monocle:

So that’s a No then…

Triggered :joy:

As anyone should be when dealing with walty behaviour….

If you do decide to put your cadet achievement badges on your uniform, don’t forget to add your Blue Radio and Bronze DofE too  will look great next to your cadet gliding wings

Introduce brassards for staff!

Personally I’d love to show off my ATC Marksman badge - I fully support this.

All these images are on cadet portal in full res too, you just have to do some directory diving!

We could have badges for DBS, Safeguarding, H&S, RCO, Fieldcraft instructor, flight sim instructor

As a genuine point, I was actually hoping to see drone flying become a bigger thing in the organisation. I think there is scope for a PTS (maybe not a badge though…).

But no doubt 2FTS will ruin it, and spend more time deciding how to make a badge for their flight suits that looks juuuuust enough like the RPAS brevet without getting them a rejection

Progressive Training Syllabus for staff training… Mandatory - blue, Level 2 training - bronze, Instructor - silver and Train the trainer - gold. :joy:

I do find it completely amusing that we encourage cadets to acheive badges and recognition and then completely turn that view 180 when those people turn 20!

I’d rather not do more sewing personally but I wouldn’t be upset if there were mechanisms for staff to show off what they are proud of/specialise in (maybe you just pick one?). DIs carry a ‘badge’ of office (pace stick… we know many don’t actually use them despite taking them everywhere) so why shouldn’t anybody else?

Well there is no RPAS brevet anymore so 2FTS could use that…

Don’t tell them that…

What about little lapel pin badges that we can wear attached to a lanyard which has our ID on?

Could even get the medal pin badges

It’s what (slightly) irked me about my branch in the RAF. No signifier unlike so many others…

But it is a reasonable point. Say you’ve got a cadet who’s completed QAIC. They then become staff. Are they no longer a Qualified Aerospace Instructor just because they’re staff? What do they have to show for it?
