It probably won’t make a difference though. The kind of people that belive what they say currently will also belive them when they say they’re doing well even if everything is on fire.
That would only stop people voting for them if they thought the other parties weren’t also circuses.
The Conservatives might recover over time, but every day Labour are in power they add more self-harm to their damaged reputation.

Labours reputation is mostly unfairly earnt. They’ve delivered on huge swathes of their manifesto promises, the economy was on an upward progression (before the Orange one started a stupid war) and they’re doing lots of things to undo the damage of the last governments.
But the media hate them, and you can see it in the way they report everything. Nigel Farage is gifted £5m and the papers are largely ignoring it.
But when Keir Starmer was gifted some glasses and suits…

Their unpopularity isn’t even rational anymore, Keir Starmer is hated but he’s done nothing to truly deserve the level of dislike the public has for him, not compared to others we’ve had this decade.
It’s not something that simply changing the leader can fix, the press and the bots will just make the replacement just as unpopular, and we begin the inevitable march to Nige.

Apart from the 14 u-turns on major policy.
The 24 sackings/resignations.
The complete failure to ‘smash the gangs’, despite giving France £100’s millions.
Alienating just about every demographic.
Not bringing about the ‘change’ he promised.
Labelling the vast majority of his former voters as ‘racist’.
Failing to clean up politics, as promised.
Allowing the welfare spending to outstrip the national insurance incomings for the first time in history.
Not bad for 2 years work!

Small boat crossing down 36% so far this year.
You don’t achieve either of those things in 2 years.
Failure to reform the state pension by successive government made this inevitable.
If the armband fits wear it.
His biggest issue is that he’s about as interesting as a cheese roll, he doesn’t make for catchy sound bites, he’s like John Major in a red rosette.
I’m a dyed in the wool Tory but I don’t think he’s doing a bad job, if there was an election today I’d probably vote Labour, he might be boring but compared to the alternatives he’s a rocket scientist.

Who ever replaces him will only be a stopgap leader until Burnham finds a safe seat, then he will become leader by the next election, and the left’s glorious revolution will begin!!

Unless Streeting gets it, he’s the only long term candidate I can see.
I think Burnham might’ve missed the boat, which is no bad thing.
I’ve already seen some attack posts against Burnham because he promised long ago to visit Israel…

Give me boring over the excitement of Boris or Truss any time.
He as not done a bad job since the last election. He was delt a sandwich by the 14 years of tory govt and the Tax cut they put in just before the election. Get blamed for having no frigates even though ordering then was kicked down the road in the early 2010s and we are worse of because of brexit.
At least he kept us out of the war with Iran.

Waiting lists are down, GP appointments are up.
My own anecdotal evidence is that my interactions with the NHS have become much easier since 2024.
