But if they have a named account, and use it to access email, then they will be able to access the SMS.
They might choose not to, but the potential for someone to be able to access personal information, without having to complete the required training is there.
It does a raise a question as to why anyone with an email account can access everything. Doesnāt happen like that at work. We have logins for access to the company system and specified ādrivesā, access to anything else is controlled and a management sign off for permissions.
Why does anyone on the CWC need access to SMS?
Going through hoops is not why people join CWCs, the only hoop is DBS. Our Primary schoolās PTA has struggled ever since people were asked to have a clearance.
Having access to an email doesnāt give you access to anything else by default. It gives you a login to SMS, yes, but what access you have can be tuned.
In terms of CWC that is up to the OC with how much access they can have. This is very similar to how a staff cadet with a generic account assigned to them can have their permissions changed so all they can do is login and access registers for example.
Although that might be because the Corps has only 9 months left of the 3 years we were given to get everyone BPSS checked; and with, apparently, so little progress made in some places itās now getting a wee bit urgent.
I heard that LASER are allowing BPSS ID checks via Teams. That seems very pragmatic and something that should be rolled out everywhere. Can anyone confirm if thatās what LASER are doing?
Iāve heard that too. Teams check to get the process rolling with a āconfirmation checkā in person at a future point TBD once face-to-face is back.
Iād forgotten the IBN. Iāll have to dig it out.
Seems odd to end the electronic method just as we went into lockdown again! If āvirtualā BPSS was acceptable in October, it should be acceptable any time.
ACTO99 should probably be expanded to include the mandatory training expected of cadets as well IMO - currently ACTO8 and the HSEP Climatic Injuries procedures mandate cadets are trained too.
Thatās just cos it was previously Heartstart which wonāt be a thing soon.
Who ever SO2 Trg Assurance is gets a big round of applause!
Very nicely laid out and pretty easy to understand. Also to actual table is only 3 pages so nice and easy to print out and stick in the office for quick reference!
