We keep space in the back pocket for rainy day activities. Wish there were more practical space activities available though, any thoughts?

As a Squadron Commander I would just do what I wanted.

Don’t get me wrong in my criteria for promotion I used Leading for Corporal and Senior for SNCO (and I’m not going to put a candidate up for CWO who hasn’t done Master), but I was always somewhat flexible and had First Class Corporals and Leading Sergeants if it was the right thing to do.

My squadron are currently doing this as part of our Bronze Crest Awards and entering UKROC in 2024.

We have recently done model rocket powered cars based on Bloodhound. Its a fantastic activity to get cadets thinking about STEM and project management.

Edit: its worth noting that its an approved activity but not indemnified and there has been a reasonable cost on the outset to get this going.
