They were made a SATT some time ago and will eventually come under the TQM for standards management of a SATT when that gets done.

Part of that was allocating patches.

At least this one is official.

I remember seeing a JL staff member who’d made the most ridiculous one off patch for himself. Seem to remember it was an RAF TRF with the black ATC albatross in the centre. Quite why he bothered I’ll never know, one would assume someone that desperate to not show they were a Cadet Volunteer would just remove the blanking patch, dedication to walting…

Seems unlikely. That rumour is about a decade old.

This isa common rumour & is often stated when people are speculating or over-extrapolating.

A sign that I would look for that it is on the cards is either

  • reduced number of places
  • the recruitment & advertising for next cohort is significantly later than previously.
  • general pause on all fieldcraft. Before the next intake starts

Otherwise it’s the same rumour that’s put out each year similar to the Red Arrows being disbanded.

I hear you all but from my own recent personal briefings, RAFAC expenditure is currently very much under the microscope and CRAFAC has been told to look for savings as his budget is contracting.

JL’s was the first one mentioned and whilst I hear what you say about it being an aged rumour, maybe this time it could be fairly accurate. It wasn’t the only course mentioned, either…

Just thought the other sign I would look for would be

  • max staff cadet age droped from 20 to 19
  • JL it self being “paused”
