I've just bought something new

Such a gorgeous boat (the Wenonah - not the Discovery!!!)

Donā€™t encourage him!

Bank account empty, so will have to wait to pay for the Falcons.

Falcons arrived being pulled around the layout by 20128. Sail arrived so now I can do improvised sailing (which wont be that improvised). Need to find someone with a punting pole to practice rigging it up. This weekend should get boat rigged. Hopefully might even get on the water.

Took some photos at a recent event, lighting not that great in a few of the photos so decided to upgrade my lensā€¦

Hammock and tarps arrived, canoe trips in the planning.

Nice! Whats the F stop on that badger? I only have 1 sigma lens, the 300mm, nice though. I just treated myself to the 50mm 1.8f nikkor. Beautifully crisp and deep colours!
What do you mean by not great in your photos? What settings did you have on? What camera do you use?

kfd I hope you went for quality and purchased a hennessy!

Nice!!! Just did one down the Brecon & Monmouth Canal. A lovely piece of countrysideā€¦ although the canal itself is VERY boring!!!

Iā€™d love a hennessy! Iā€™ve always wanted one, they look so comfortable!

In other news, Iā€™ve bought tickets to see Monty Python at the O2

That Sigma is one beast of a lens. Unfortunately too penniless to be able to afford anything near as capable

pEp hennessyā€™ are fantastic. Purchased one for the Jungle. The dutch get issued them! Lucky sods.
The rest of the lads made do with cheap civvie hammocks that got issued with the standard basha over the top.
I was usually in my henny while they were still putting the hammock up.

Well worth a buy! and get the snake skins for them too.
easier and quicker to set up and take down.

Get a squash ball and cut it in half, punch a hole in and feed the support cord through it, so the curve faces the tree (away from the hammock) like "hammock ā€”(---- tree"
add a healthy dollop of rep and it keeps the bugs at bay.
Wee pot of sudocream and tiger balm in the internal pocket.
Sorted.

The Sigma is 70 - 200 F2.8, I also have a Sigma 28-300 F3.6-5.6. I also plan to use the new lens for sports photography
The problem was the light levels when inside and Iā€™m not a great fan of using the flash when trying to catch people while they are talking to others whithout being aware their photo is being taken. I also plan to use the new lens for sports photography as Iā€™m involved in the local Rugby Club.
Camera at teh moment is a Canon 450 D but planning to upgrade to a 70 D in the near future.

ABZ

Iā€™ve recently upgraded from Canon 500D to 70D, and it was well worth the money

I went for A DD hammock with Midge net. Scotland needs midge net.

I went from a 500D to a 60D around this time last year, well worth it. Longing for a 70-200 f/4 now!

I cant get to O2 to see Monty Python, so went for the option of the Cinema for the last night. I then have an early start to head to London to escort cadets overseas. B)

Right been away for 7months but my most recent purchases include

Streaming goodness.

Not bought but given. A new queen bee. A new queen arrived in the post on Tuesday. Now introduced to a hive in the garden. I hope she produces bees that a re less grumpy or vicious than our current ones. 3 stings in 10 seconds last weekend. Painful and itchy for 3 days.

You can send bees in the post?
