I saw this, bit ridiculous if Iā€™m honest.

Iā€™ve just come from the thread debating means of termination of a CWOā€™s appointment. Not entirely sure thereā€™s anything in ACP 20 that refers to mutiny.

The typo for ASPIRE and suggestion the RAFAC is the ā€œUKā€™s biggest youth organisationā€¦ā€ suggest they havenā€™t thought the wording through or offered a fully rational argument

We just get on and do stuff anyway so itā€™s clearly ATC. ā€œSchool laser rifle clubā€ anyone? Pure coincidence the membership is a 100% overlap with CCF

The RAFAC as it was - Yes but then Iā€™m sure every decade or so that happens.

The RAFAC in general No - for my area of the world at the local squadrons we are just seeing increases in cadets, higher attendance rates, and more people going on more (local) activities

What might kill us is the lack of CFAVs and burn out. There isnā€™t balance at the moment of how we manage the staff - the absolutely is people in the middle but a large portion either fall into the disillusioned and should probably leave as they can only see the negatives, or they are Uber keen and try and do too much and burn out.

I know Iā€™m starting to fall into the Uber keen / burn out because I see so many of the negatives and feel I over compensate to make sure it doesnā€™t impact the cadets. Iā€™ve caught myself a couple of times and physically had to tell myself stop or you will kill yourself you have a life outside of cadets as well.

Itā€™s the staff we need to look at, there will always be the cadets in one fashion or another no matter what we do with the activities, even if we stopped all Region/National and even to some extent Wing events, Squadrons would survive if we can sort our staff out. What kills squadrons is no, ill or bad staff

As someone involved for nearly three decades I canā€™t think of a worse downturn.

In the past we had change - paper based exams to online, ā€˜professionalisationā€™ of the RAFAC through more staff training and awarding of NGB qualiifcations as oppose to in-house ones. The ā€˜professionalisationā€™ of the RAFAC between about 2000 and 2015 was much needed, but I now fear we are going to far and turning the RAFAC into a business where all some people are interested in is the bottom line.
