I really want a sage coffee machine but she keeps saying nope.
You lot are spoilt - what every happened to the simple ideas?? ![]()
Instant gives me bellyache, but I got a bean-to-cup machine for Christmas (current equivalent to the model at work). Prior to that I was grinding my own beans and using a manual espresso machine (but the amount of work and cleaning involved resulted in a markedly reduced coffee intake).
My boss got one on Black Friday⦠he then logged off for two hours to go and play with it. Fantastic apparently.
Been through a variety of coffee types - Inc Aeropress. But my new default go to is this little beast - and it beats the Aeropress as thereās no requirement for filter paper, so once less thing to carry about!!
Love my aeropress, good for me as Iām making a single cup of coffee rather than two. Iāve switched to a washable and reusable metal filter for cost purposes but the paper filters make better coffee.
IIRC thereās an aeropress which uses the older nespresso type capsules, which are easy enough to get hold of. Might be good for field use?
And I think you can get silicone refillable nespresso pods now too
If you bring it, ill invite youā¦
Need a generator and long extension cable
Just use an Anker battery with 240v supply and a coffee machine.
That or half hour wait for a hipster pour over I a chemex, having hand ground the beans with a mortar and pestle.
Thats the dream
After roasting the beans individually to ensure a āperfectā roast.
I took a jet boil & aeropress to Nijmegen in ā23⦠for a ānice coffeeā at RP1ā¦
Two issues⦠even with a jet boil, setting everything up when youāre smashing through RPs is a faff and a ball ache⦠secondly; I hadnāt fully appreciated the full laxative effects of a strong coffee followed by exercise!
Breakfast was lovely though - especially with access to a proper toilet, with MUCH shorter queues!
Right, time for a separate coffee thread! ![]()
Oooh⦠now youāre talkingā¦
Who else has discovered Adaptogenic coffees (One for What Are You Eating / Drinking? thread me thinks?)
Yeah, no way I was making coffee in 8 minutes.
Thread revival!
Iām looking for a new 50ish litre bag, and Iām currently between the Rab Muon 50, and the Salomon Aerotrek 50. I like the chest pockets being zipped on the Rab, and the running strap, and its general design, but I like how the Salomon has chest pockets and waist pockets, and also a mesh air back. Iāve also looked at the Atmos AG 50, but thought it looked a little cumbersome, but I did also like the look of the Gregory Stout and Paragon, and also the Deuter Aircontact. I think my current fave is the Salomon. I would use it for UK hillwalking, and multi day walks.
Anyone got any experience with these or recommendations for any other bags?
Cheers!
