I want to be able to wear a jumper without wearing a tie. Like we used to.
TLAM is so Royal Navy (ugh) Paveway 4 or Dual Mode Brimstone is far cheaper and just as efffective, think of the budget.
Nothing wrong with the senior service old chap!
And it makes a much more impressive mess than any of the other options.
Cheaper, certainly. But with so much less classā¦
Are we talking about the weapons or RAF vs RN officers?
The whole thing really. The individuals of course - the big watches, the hair products, the Focus ST - as well as the growbag, the sweat, the soil after spending 10 in a single seat cockpit (and everyone knows thereās a reason itās called a cockpitā¦), as opposed to the pushing a button while drinking tea, freshly showered and about to have an excellent dinner with a full-bodied Red.
Damn straight.
Although of course, the RN themselves are a little coarse.
As the saying goes - officers of the RFA are professional seafarers pretending to be gentlemen, officers of the RNR are gentlemen pretending to be professional seafarers and officers of the RN are neither pretending to be both.
Just a pity the RAF got rid of Blue steel and WE177s now they would have made an impression!
If you get the chance go to the Boscombe Down Aviation Collection at Old Sarum airfield near Salisbury, well worth a visit.
Iām going to propose that the Wing TDS get soft shells and polosā¦just to push you over the edge
Topic? Where did that one go off to?
some form of hidden pocket for the females to carry their 3822 when in skirts.
My WO used to cut pockets out of U/S male trousers and the girls would sew them into their waistband for exactly that purpose.
Bring back pursebelts?
Just get rid of skirts and have all people attend in trousers/ slacks.
Itās the year 2019 not 1959.
Bring back pursebelts?
they have never officially gone - they are simply as common as hens teeth and about as easy to source
They have a choice, they arenāt forced to wear a skirt.
Its 2019, i should be allowed to wear a skirt!
Brocade pantaloons - perfect for every occasion. Failing that, bring back battle dress! We had one uniform that was perfect for a dayās shooting at Ponteland in the winter, formal parades and British Bulldog (though it was always a pain sewing the buttons back on ready for the next parade night).
The trick was to undo the buttons between the blouse and the trousers before the game.

Those front and back buttons were easy, the problem was always those black (and often brittle) RAF crested jobs on the pockets - there was always a great trade in spare buttons
