How to prepare for Dodentocht?

Pathfinder does not provide a WARMA style medal

it provides a runners medal for the walkers, I had to fashion one from a RAF WARMA medal ribon and clasp.

I’ll be going this year, so if you want want, chuck me your medal, and a RAF WARMA gong (you can buy them off Spike Elliot, Silver would look best) and I can sort you out :+1:

thanks for replying, how do i buy the raf warma gong off spike elliot?

e-mail him, use the events secretary address, he also has a RAFAC address.

Many thanks to everyone that put on yet another great event at the RAFWARMA Cosford weekend!

Looking forward to Waendel next weekend!

Those of you going to Waendal and walking the off road routes. Keep an eye out for Ticks. Had DofE exped with the school on the weekend just go gone, two pupils picked up Ticks on their legs. I will be buying a Tick removal tool for my FA kit today.

Good spot @Mr_OZ !

RAF Pathfinder March this weekend…

First “training walk” that is going to be a bit moist this season!

14 of us going so far that I know of - with a lot of friends that are using it as preparation for this year’s DM - if they can do 72km with hills, 100km flat as a pancake shouldn’t be a problem!

Now to see how they like walking in waterproofs…!

If I can avoid it I will

Welp!

Dropped out at Longstanton after rolling my ankle on the road to Oakington…
Now I’ve got a point to prove to prove so if anyone knows any DoTo tickets looking for new owners please let me know

Nope.

Yes please! Please DM and we can arrange

Right choice

Missed watching those trekking around, the route goes very close to Jenvey Towers.

Had a pleasant but tiring long weekend in Copenhagen - my daughter’s bloke’s stag do! And yes, he was told that it was one of the most expensive cities in Europe!!

The Carlsberg tour + beer tasting = highly recommended.

Yes its an excellent tour… as is the premium/VIP tour at Heineken in AMS

Ooh….

So here’s a thing…. I’m going over with a load of civvies… (no cadets - and certainly not a dry camp - sorry, not sorry!)

We’d usually go over Sunday - arriving Sunday evening… but this year, we’re going a day early… so now we’ve got Saturday Night, Sunday and Monday to entertain ourselves…

Someone suggested a bit of Amster-damage… or do we stick with Nij-mageddon?

Well the Premium experience (used to) include a beer and cheese pairing upnon the roof, and a personalised bottle of Heineken.

Hmm - what cheese is best paired with chilled Heineken….Edam?

So, I’ve come to realise that timings discussed in another thread mean that I’m likely to be in Europe for early-mid August…
