HM King Charles III - Coronation Medal

LOL. What’s a WHQ?

So they could send it to region, 1hr from me, or to the (now defunct) WHQ, 1hr 30m away. Wil probably got to pillar now, 2hrs 30 away.

Sea cadets have found a novel way - direct to volunteer

Sensible policies for a happier Britain!

And no form to sign and return through the CoC.

I’m in 2 minds about that, while it’s simper and easier, for many this is the only medal they will get or certainly the first and the option to have it presented should be there.

Work are having “surgeries” where a member of the Command Board will be present in a tunic, there will be tea and cake and you are invited to drop in, either to your local one or to one that’s convenient to you to be presented it. (So a lad or my team is married to someone in the job based elsewhere, they are both going to collect from our local session and then go out for dinner).

It says in the DIN that the medal should be presented formally i.e on a parade or similar. Whatever we might think of “chocolate medals” it is still a gift from our sovereign and should be treated accordingly. Daws’ point above sounds great and flexible. Much better than getting it on a jiffy bag through the post as my QPJM arrived!

There is no form to sign that you’ve received it anyway.

Well, they are filtering down.

We’ve been told ours are ready to collect from RHQ, or to post if needed

So can we get a quick amendment to ACP 1358 to allow cadets to wear them in No 1s? Or is it already allowed?

Should be allowed already. There have been occasional instances of cadets with BEMs wearing them in 1s

Don’t know why it wouldn’t be authorised?

Clearly the cynic in me just assumed policy wouldn’t allow it

Are there any cadets entitled to them left in service? #sarc

Had comms mines at WHQ, so they are about!

Just in time for the weekend… Not…

I’ve had an email to say my QPJM and Coronation Medal are at RHQ, bit of shame that they’ve now gone several hundred miles away from where I am when they were 40 mins away at Cranditz

Not sure how CCF are getting theirs. Knowing my luck I’ll see the sealed parcel handed to the region at the Comdt’s conference and that’s the last I’ll see of it for 6 months…

Got mine on Monday from WHQ, and had to sign for it. It can now sit in the drawer alongside the others until the day I might actually get to wear No. 1s again.
