I love Cantona, not a Man U fan but I just love him. Brilliant footballer and a who gives a toss attitude to dealing with the press., top bloke. He would bring some colour to currently dour set who are managers, if this was to happen.

Held in high esteem by a lot of the top coaches and managers. Already seems to have plenty of ideas which is what they need - a proper fresh start that switches things up.

Feeling sorry for Martin Atkinson right now. He was trying to blow the whistle to stop play but didn’t have quite enough time to do so. Therefore the goal rightly had to stand.
This is why I prefer the lacrosse system of reffing. We brought the assistants onto the field and any of them can whistle to stop play. In settled play around the gosl one watches the ball and immediate vicinity, one watches the wider goal area and one stands back to watch for naughtiness at the other end and to be ready for a fast break by the defending team.
Atkinson was having to watch everything and make the decision to stop play by himself. Let the assistants call the foul/stop play for an injury if they see it.
As a United fan Arsenal did nothing wrong. And De Gea wss injured by his own teammate after all

Sounds like they fluffed it to start with with rust and inexperience, but that still wasn’t near a “full strength” team making that comeback!
