As someone who has supported Arsenal for over 50 years I have come to expect they will start well and then go off the boil or start poorly and pick up. Then there is the November/December doldrums. So losing the first game against whoever doesn’t surprise or bother me.
My brother in law who bears the same cross and far more avid follower than me, said that after Christmas last season Arsenal accumulated the 3rd highest points tally in the premier league. Just a pity they weren’t doing that from the start.
