Ooooooooohhhhhh.

Yeh that stuff blew my mind the first time I did it. Took a moment to get the feel right, but it’s awesome.

This is how my Silver Shadows were laced. I didn’t even know it had a name and had to Google it.

Who knew you were referring to laces, I thought good on you for getting back out there and finding a nice running loop - thinking nice ground underfoot to run on

Off to google…..

As I was bimbling around the Derbyshire Dales this morning, I was thinking I could probably do with some new trail shoes. I was slip slidin’ away more than Simon & Garfunkel.

Strangely enough, it turns out Strava thought the same as this email just arrived…

I accidentally bought a pair of Akasha 2s yesterday :grimacing: I wanted a properly light weight, breathable pair of shoes for hiking. These are made a trail running does, but fit the bill perfectly for me!

I’m likely to stick with Inov8, as I have proper Hobbit feet and theirs are the only ones I’ve found so far that I can get in 4E with decent lugs.

But yeah, 90% of trails can be walked in trail running shoes. It’s only the proper tough stuff or really off-kilter terrain that really needs anything more serious

This has opened today (until Sunday) for next year’s event - which is due to take place on both Saturday & Sunday!

Anyone else entering the ballot with me? I’ve been drawn from it before, so it’s not impossible.

That’s no pressure for me, I’m more the 5hrs mark.

Still it’s quite a feat, officially broken that barrier. First 2 men were sub 2 hrs

With a little help from some jabs and getting out each lunchtime for a walk, I’m down from 105 kilos to 97 Kilos.

Started wearing 38/40 Jeans, now my 36 Inch Jeans are loose….

This was me not too long ago! Now I have started lifting and am gaining weight again, but for the right reasons.

I’m planning to shift the lard, then do some light weight lifting for toning and general fitness.

I’ve got a barbell set here collecting dust.

You described my setup to a tee - now the bar and dumbells are being put to work

I have a problem.

In June, I need to get in to my number 1s that don’t really fit.

I have 2 holidays between now and then, 1 is all inclusive

That’s enough time to save for a tailor.

Dropping it next weekend to make it less tight and then really strict food intake between holidays.

TBF might take the runners to Mallorca with me

New shoe day!

But what a difference 1000km of trail running can make - look at the size differences in those lugs! :joy:

Well, I got to properly break these in today. Have been using them around town to check fit, but had a pretty big mountain day today.

Did a 1700m peak, starting from 400m. So a decent 1300m ascent. Bloody hard going, as it was rather steep ascent. But the decent was surprisingly fun. Jogging in places too.

I’d planned a 12.5km route from the bus stop back to the same bus stop. But when I got back it’d have been a 45 minute wait for the bus. So I ended up then waking home, which is about 5km. And beat the bus back! :joy: Ended up with a total recorded distaste of just over 18km. 1310m ascent. 1726m decent. 4:11 moving time and 4:39 total time.

Now my knees hurt and I’m knackered.
