ooh tell me more - I fancy taking the cadets for some deer stalking

No cadet would ever get within 100m of a deer. They’re incapable of quiet

Usually because the EA is 0.5 cm behind ruining the realism. :exploding_head:

Local experience is

CCF(RAF): Often have L98’s and proper storage for forward positioning of blank. Also M Qual Staff and private land for FC training. However often need to travel long distances to live fire.

ATC: Often have to travel long distances to get rifles and blank & short on M Qual Staff. Faff to find land to do FC training on. But they do have access to more local ranges for live fire.

There is a solution of mutual benefit here that seems fairly obvious and indeed I was working on just that before the Pandemic poked its nose in.

On Topic: Wet/Dry routine, ignore at your peril!

Essential that one!

Interesting to see Forces TV running shout out for ideas on this very topic:

TOPL was discussed on here a while back in the thread so thought I’d add that ACATI 015 has been updated to make it a lot clearer when it is/isn’t required. Specifically:

b. England and Wales. Cadets not in uniform, in groups of no more than 15 (inc CFAV), may use Public Rights of Way (PROW) and CROW Permissive Paths over private land without needing TOPL clearance provided that they remain on the PROW or Permissive Path.

Groups under 15.

Ok so great for small DFs…
Now what about actual Sqns!

Divide them into more than 1 group?

With ratios of 1:10 it’s not exactly difficult to arrange and means that you will never need TOPL for a DofE.

Ah.
Just realised this is only for walking and PROW.

Wish there was some sense like this for Town parks!

We had two staff do the FCI’s course online during lockdown, and it appeared to more about a test of their admin skills, with the instructor being picky about which version of a document they referenced in their admin order.

It didn’t sound like they got taught how to deliver any Fieldcraft, which was a real missed opportunity.

Which course was that and who delivered it?
