It’s been on a general decline for a number of years. Apparently it’s quite difficult to even raffle them off.

With DTS and F1 movie, you’d think things would be going up!
Perhaps because it’s not the best spectator experience compared to the TV?

We look at going, but worked out too expensive overall once you’ve added accommodation, getting to/from the track etc. I think you could have gone to Monza and had a couple days extra either side for similar Monday.
It’s a difference experience I’d say. Went to a GP weekend for the first time last year and it was great to be there and experience it with the noise, smells etc but we were still watching the highlights from each session when we got back to the hotel.
I’d still recommend going tho

Cheaper to go to Glasto and you can camp so no accommodation costs.
I think you can camp at silverstone but not sure on the cost

Admittedly we excluded that option which pushed the price up
a friend of mine did exactly this. One year to Monza, the next they went somewhere else (Spa maybe?)
One lad was given use of his Dad’s Audi estate and then sorted out temporary insurance for the car load to each have a leg.
Sharing the cost of the fuel and camping rather than a hotel, it cost them less to go for the weekend than it would to travel the two hours to Silverstone, and enjoyed it so much did a similar trip the following year (there were plans for an annual trip around Europe but then kids starting appearing in the group so they only managed it twice)
Yeah I was discussing that with a mate, I’d be more likely to go abroad to a race than go to Silverstone due to the overall costs.
That and the more reliable good weather.
