It’s just a tactical move against red bull. Hold Max back as much as possible.
He’s got two new PU’s now for the rest of the season.
Which is fine if it works, but if it doesn’t that’s a lot of Championship Points in the Constructors to give up.

Was a shame for Lando, was a great drive up until he made the wrong call on the tyres. The team were trying to get him in while giving him the ownership of the race but he made the wrong call. I’m sure he’ll learn from it.
Great drive from Verstappen to get all those places back too, can’t believe Bottas just let him through how he did.
Looking at some of the team radio it seems the pit wall weren’t that sure either. But that’s the benefit of hindsight.
As much as I wanted others on the podium I have to agree, can’t fault Max finishing P2 after staying dead last. The Bottas defence didn’t work the way I suspect Merc wanted it to.

Would have been good to see Lewis get into DRS on that final back straight, I think we’d have seen some hard attacking/defending
Mick slowing Max down turned out to be a blessing with that cheeky DRS deploy. Cracking drives from Lewis and Max.
On a separate note, the whining to Michael Masi over matters that he has literally no control over is getting unbearable. Alpine sounded like children last night!
It was indeed a blessing in disguise, I reckon that DRS boost is what secured it for Max.
The crying to Masi is amusing at times, but yeah it does turn into “I’m telling!”
Sat at the sqn and put the quali on the projector while we did a bull night, followed up by some Blackadder goes Forth

Yep, could be interesting.
They’ve called Max in for first thing in the morning too. Apparently he’s broken some sorting regulations and was “touching” Lewis’s car in parc ferme
Could be be penalties all round.
Hamilton was taking a grid penalty already for new parts, I wonder if they think he is so quick he would have got that back and won anyway. There has to be a calculated risk for the end of the season for them.
Any more points on top might be countered if they are going to also penalise Verstappen for being a naughty boy.
Be convenient for selling the excitement of a Sprint Race if they stick Hamilton at the back with his new engine.

Guess it all depends on what penalties and when. DQ from quali yesterday and HAM starts the sprint back of the grid. Needs to make up a good few places or he will just be back there again for the race
Well they have finally made their decision, Max gets a fine and Lewis DQ’d from yesterdays Quali. Starts the sprint back of the grid.
If Lewis can get that far in 24 laps then 71 tomorrow could be fun

Yep, gaining 15 places in 24 laps is some effort!
Even starting P10 tomorrow I’m expecting to see him on the of podium by the end.

Yeah, was a great drive and I do think he even surprised himself. Will definitely be going down to the wire for the championship points.
If the next 2 races are 1) HAM 2) VER and neither get fastest lap, it would be equal going into the final round…
