At least I got to watch a reply of the sprint, as I missed it earlier today!
Waiting for another replay later. Missed it live too
Apparently Liam Lawson hasn’t actually driven F1 in the wet before. This quali is his first time
Oof there’s going to be some controversy over that red flag timing
Just caught the end. Need to watch the highlights!!!
It was a great hour and a half’s worth of Quali. Feels like we’ve watched a whole GP
Here we go… well not quite… thanks Lance!
Haha was just coming to say this
Freshly rebuilt car and stuck it in the wall on formation lap
Now he’s somehow ended up in the gravel
Now what’s going on?! Half of them just sat at the start…
This is a mess
Slam dunk for Lando here… but my argument is that all 18 remaining cars did ultimately move with now green light…
Especially those that moved out of position on the grid
If anyone moved without a green light then the penalty needs to be everyone or no one, if that’s the rules. Can’t just be the person at the front.
Yeah I agree
If one or two did it should be a penalty, but enough did it to suggest there was a comms issue
More suggests the rules are ambiguous. But as the Sky commentators have said, there was no green light. No green means no go, simply. But there was also no red light, it was flashing amber…
Took max a long time to get into the points.
Similar to double waved yellows, proceed and be prepared to stop
Do we have HQAC writing rules as well as policy?
I hope there’s no penalty
Interesting point!
I think what ever happens, it’s all to play for for the whole grid. We’ve got more rain to come, plus times with no rain. Might see full wets and slicks yet. Plus we must get at least another red flag!
I don’t know the rules well enough tbh to judge. When even the commentators aren’t sure, I think it’s basically pot-luck.
Is adrian going to have the moral fibre to tell lawrence his son isnt a very good driver?
Yeah going to be interesting I think. A group of the others are under investigation now too
