F1 is trash.

Should be a no holds barred, no tech banned, race to the death. Like the good old days.

What we currently have is just over rule based guff.

But I’m personally glad cry baby Hamilton lost.

Interestingly Mercedes won the Constructors Championship, which is where all of the money is.

That is correct, but how much media coverage does the Constructers get? The answer a lot less that the drivers. So with all the publicity of the drivers comes more sponsers and more money again.

So looks like a final decision is expected in the next 5 mins WRT merc’s second protest.

I can see this going to the Court of Arbitration for Sport of similar.

Yep, can see it happening either way. The key thing here is it isn’t Merc vs RB, it’s Merc vs FIA. As in, RB didn’t do anything wrong here, imo. But the FIA did screw up big time.

They have 2 challenges in, the best being that the FIA failed to follow the rules, the other being that Verstappen overtook Hamilton under the safety car at the restart (when the safety car had gone back into the pits but before they had passed the start line).

I can see then accepting that the FIA messed up, paying Mercedes compensation but not over turning the result of the race/championship.

This one has all ready been thrown out! They agreed Max was in front very briefly, but didn’t ‘overtake’ as he went straight back behind.

Aaaand, they just confirmed they’ve rejected the second protest too. Max is champion for sure.

Will be interesting to see where Mercedes go from here.

Watching Teds Notebook and he mentioned the suspicion that Perez was short fuelled to make sure that he could be involved in the Hamilton/Verstappen fight which is why he really retired.

It’s a dangerous conspiracy, but seems unlikely.

Just seems too unlikely to be true, especially as it would mean throwing away the Constructors.

Mercedes need to make sure they don’t get too distracted, they only have 3 months till the next season starts and it’s going to be a very different world.

I can see Merc saying “ok, fine, let it stand. But Masi must resign”. And he should, he’s had a shocking season.

The thing is that don’t just pull another Charlie Whiting out of thin air. It will take time to get upto the standard that we would want to see.

He left a big hole and an amazing legacy, all the more reason why the person in his seat needs to be up to the job. Masi isn’t.

They made it clear the last few races they were going all in on the drivers championship. The amount of times Perez was pitted to take fastest lap from Lewis even though he was scoring points.

I still think Lewis should have won, it was a crappy move by the FIA. It should have been all or nothing on the un lapped cars.

I am however excited for next season. New era of cars and now Lewis is on the path to regain his crown.

These situations are why all contracts and other significant documents have definitions as the begining to avoid such disputes. If the FIA did that then such defense wouldent hold up and Mercades could of got the win.

It will be interesting to see how George Russell plays it, he will know that he is the future of the Team and the Team are going to want to see what he can do, but will that lead to an Alonso/Hamilton season?
