EUF and TOPL

You barely have to do TOPL applications with the new rules. Unless you are staying at some weary MOD estate that requires it the policy pretty much makes it unnecessary 95% of the time. (I don’t think I’ve done any since the rules changed).

Except for the field opposite the squadron if you want it to be part of your EUF?

Love an acronym.

Let’s play bingo.

EUF - extended unit foorprint
MOD - ministry of defence
HQAC - head quarters air cadets
Flt Lt — Flight Lieutenant
VR - volunteer reserve

TOPL - drawing a blank! OC (officer commanding) mentioned a PIPE (participation in public event) last night and that took me by surprise.

Help me out, I know i should know it! I’ll kick myself when you say what it is!

Thank you :joy::+1:

And kicking myself. Hard.

Once you’re in… you’re in.

Never did one for that either. Worked on the principle it would always be groups of 15 or less.

Why does that matter?

All EUFs need TOPL???

^ that was my understanding as well.
The under 15 bit is only for AT?

I only really do AT so wouldn’t know.

I do know that my EUF always got signed off without one each year.

I was gonna say… what new rules… I’m always (once a year or everything we do something somewhere new) running around trying to get TOPLs

If it’s AT or Expeditions based and you are using groups of less than 15 you don’t need TOPL, it’s only for this things like FMS these days as they are included in the exemption that is in the ACATI.

If you’re only doing AT… it’s not an EUF.

It was signed of by the FC Officer as an EUF, without a TOPL but we are probably a long way off topic at this point.

Unsure how…

EUFs are now signed off only on SMS by TSAs…

Topic died aged ago. Vive la new topic. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

EUF’s need signing off by the TSA on SMS

We had to submit an EUF to do drill on a nearby primary school playground on parade nights. No TOPL required (common sense applied)

It was signed off by the TSA on SMS

EUF is for any activity that takes place away from the Sqn compound/building in lieu of raising an SMS event and gaining approval each time.

Maybe because the school is technically public land not private?

Dunno.

Seems yet another rule or requirement that varies in adoption across our 'uniformed organisation…

Nah, it doesn’t work like that. We got told we needed TOPL to use the park owned by the LA.

This … and trying to find someone at the LA who is able to take responsibility for that little bit of land is a nightmare!
