Email Signatures

Almost every OC is a Heartstart instructor, and so why (s)he thinks being a Heartstart Instructor needs to be in the signature block:

I’m not a HS instructor… but I am an OC.

Cadet Forces Skill At Arms Instructor | RAFAC Bronze Cyber Instructor | RAFAC Bronze Radio Instructor | DofE Expedition Assessor | RAFAC Blue & Bronze Radio Assessor | RAFAC Risk Assessor | Cadet Forces Range Conducting Officer (LR)

DofE Leader too? LLA? BELA?

If you’re going to do it at least commit :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Don’t you need to have AFA to be an RCO?

Leader yes, but no AT quals.

Nope, you need a designated First Aider but this can’t be the RCO. on a side note I do have FAAW but wasn’t an instructional Q so i didn’t list it

Would I list both DI courses or just the Arms Drill…cause that’s pretty much the only thing I’d have to put on :joy:

Not going to though

Is that to keep the Sqn WO from the throat of the young upstart Sgt

Shows how little I know about shooting! I haven’t fired a weapon since I was a cdt

Didn’t I warn about exactly this happening?

HISTORY IS REPEATING ITSELF!

I’d be replying with a personalised signature that puts theirs to shame, including some irrelevant post nominals for extra giggles.

I mean, ā€œBHF Heartstart Instructorā€ - at least put something to be proud of on there and not something that’s almost as common as a clean DBS.

Clearly I am one of those people you despise because I do put postnominals in my email signature. In my defence, as I work in education, people do expect to see them. (Though the teacher equivalent I guess is listing PGCE as well - I mean, yes, I do have one, but…)

That’s the one… I’m putting ā€œClean DBSā€ alongside my ā€œCadet H&S ELA Mentorā€, and ā€œYear 2 ā€˜Dolphin Award’ swimming certificateā€ā€¦

CFM? …

Not basic enough. You need to put up with the nonsense so long that it becomes an achievement.

To clarify, I did say irrelevant! More like someone putting something like Flt Lt Sparky SMEG for supreme member of the electricians’ guild or whatever.

My own industry specific qualification or memberships apply too and I would challenge them if I saw someone using them.

Problem is I use one generic email signature at work for both educational and cadet-related stuff. Which means it contains everything.

My personal favourite are the people whose Twitter name is ā€˜Col Bob Stevens MBE’ or whatever. Nice that you got the MBE, but it isn’t part of your name.

Maybe if I got one I’d do the same.

I was going to ask why you use the same account for both… but presumably CCF?

You can set up different signatures in Outlook. Even just for work, I have several

Yes, correct - and CCF is work, really. (I also have a staff officer position for which I do indeed use only my BADER account.)

What would really help would be if Outlook 365 allowed multiple accounts; it’s a bit galling that my iPad can do it but my PC can’t. Then I could just use the BADER accounts for CCF.
