Coronavirus: what happens next!

Are they not the same organisation? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::joy:

Ouch!

Right. Home for two weeks starts now.

My biggest fear is running out of Airbrush thinner…

You can get it next day on Amazon.

Personally I’m shocked at the slow response from the RAFAC and the country as a whole.
Although I am glad that our admin inspection is cancelled! :joy:

I’m also one of these on the frontline in the NHS. It’s going to be an interesting few weeks…

Don’t be daft…

PM deliberately left it til everyone had left school and work… HQAC deliberately left on time and then shrugged when they heard the news.

There’s nothing that can’t be left until the morning in the CS.

Not if it comes from China. A mate of mine ordered something 3 weeks ago and was told it’s coming from China and he might get it by the end of March at the earliest.

I’ve postponed parade nights ufn, still no official call on our Region. Supposedly - JL is also still happening this weekend :joy:

In my wing lots of weekend activities cancelled by activity commander. Nobody in my wing will make a decision either way, everything is being done piecemeal.
I have closed my unit . Several others have done the same.

I’m afraid we have no vacancies (and it’s over £40k per year…)

Crows?

Doesn’t that need Region’s permission?

Seem to remember that even if there were (temporary) local staff shortages, it was incumbent on a sqn to contact wg / region in order to get staff to cover for a parade night if necessary?

I’m really disappointed at the organisations response, in comparison to the ACF and others we can see:

No clear direction from leadership at HQAC or RHQ level
No centralised place for information
No centralised media campaign or presence

All of which are simple things that could be solved in minutes and are being done a lot better by others.

Our WExO has effectively said it’s at the squadron commander’s discretion what to do until official advice says otherwise.

This unfortunately is not isolated to this incident though.

Our comms are awful externally and internally, a big change will have to happen to change this.

Given the circumstances and Govt advice, I don’t think it really matters - the situation with schools will change this week and today I feel the organisation will be left with no choice.

I really hope you are correct. I am very worried the organisation will say carry on chaps and have a stiff upper lip about the whole situation.

I suppose we just have to wait until HQAC is open to see if anything comes out.

By a lack of leadership, do you just mean they’ve not told you to close?

I’m hearing the same thing at work, yet I think the lead here is clear. It’s just that leaders aren’t saying things people want to hear.

The MOD line until yesterday was business as usual - the exact line I had from Benson on Friday was ‘we advise against activities taking place if they are not necessary but we won’t prevent you’.

I don’t mind what the instruction is… Whether it is stay open or close but there is nothing.

And then there should be some form of communication on the forecast of events. We see everyone around us cancelling events yet nothing on Easter camps has come out and we’re in a key planning phase.

Wings are making decisions which is good but they vary wildly, some closing and some staying open, some doing weekend stuff, some not, all of this mixed messaging is because of the lack of co-ordinated orders from above.
