It’s been a long while since I did mine but in general know what you need to do for safeguarding & what you need to do to run an SMS activity & what you would need to ensure is in place if approving which you need to know as a future OC Sqn.
Read through AP1919 once just you have a gist on the background underpinning regs
There are scripted questions and these are passed down from HQAC, and these are covered when staff ‘get’ to undertake the SITC. I’ve seen the question set.
Depending which Wing you are will dictate which staff from other Wings you will get. With North Region being at Leeming, you are going to probably get Regional Cmdt and Deputy Regional Cmdt with 2 neutral OC Wing. Learn about civ comms roles and responsibilities and chaplains alongside safeguarding, safeguarding and more safeguarding/H&S. If you don’t know the answer my biggest tip is don’t try and waffle, just tell them you aren’t sure however you would find it by either searching Sharepoint, looking in ACP x (if its safeguarding 4 etc) or Speaking up your CoC. The OC wings are in general from a broad spectrum of preferences such as AT, shooting, gliding etc. Never say you don’t like a particular thing if asked. You could say its not your preference however you can deliver x, y and z because your passion is with that, we don’t all have to be shooting boffins etc.
Apparently on of the bug bears in interviews when asking a question about what you would do in a certain safe guarding situation is getting the response “I would refer to my chain of command”
The better answer is to detail the immediate actions you would take, along with you rationale behind the decisions & that you would inform the chain of command.
Also be aware that nowdays with safeguarding only the paid staff are regarded as part of the chain of command.
