Climatic Injuries Training - Pause and Reassess Order July 2022

And therefore any activities of taking cadets to RIAT also have to be allowed. They’ve known about this for days, if i get a stop order tomorrow I’m ptobably going to resign.

A stop order was the correct decision to make 2/3/4 days ago. My cadets are already on the bus on the way to RIAT… It’s too late to do it now, but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t. It’ll just make it 10x harder to manage.

RIAT isn’t authorised though so technically outside the scope of the review.

Given that the worst (?) weather is due for a Monday should they send the RIAT cadets home early? And if so how do we manage it?

Probably better to turn the coaches around whilst they still can. If parents are being asked collect their kids tomorrow / Sat / Sun it will be a nightmare.

No matter how they attempt to manage it, it’ll be a nightmare both logistically and from a PR point of view.

Just had the stop come down

Local, regional? National?

Ive just had the reminder from the regional commandant saying be careful and do you really need to do it. Im waiting for AEF to be cancelled.

So a whole region stop for us in LaSER? Or what?

One safety report I saw this week, is from a Pilot having to return to base ASAP, as a cadet went quiet and limited response, as they were suffering from heat stroke on the air…

Not recieved anything through my chain, and I’m in LASER

COS RAFAC > RCs (Inc ARC SW as cover for RC SW) > RSOs / WEXOs > All Wing

All in less than 12 hours, as COS email was sent at 2300.

Hang on so it was sent yesterday (ok late) and we have cadets who got on buses this morning?

Nothing seen in W&W formally yet.

Its never too late.

“Carry on itus” kills.

YOU CAN ALWAYS ‘GO AROUND’.

I know i can be hardwork sometimes. But trust me on this. Its never too late to abort.

Hopefully. I think it’s be safer to carry on than run around madly trying to get the cadets back at this point.
