At putins level & in this sort of situation Pikes tend to be the traditional & the most likely. He may well be encouraged to have a quiet moment of reflection with the Mess Makarov.
As someone has said online it’s not as if Putins going to be able to retire to a Black Sea dacha if it’s forces out. He may well feel that it’s a case of all or nothing which makes things even more dangerous & unpredictable.
The Soviets tended to prefer “Helicopter Crashes” for that sort of thing.
The Soviets did start going more for enforced retirement over Kangaroo Court towards the latter part of the Cold War so being retired to his Dacha, possibly under house arrest is probably more likely than you might expect.

Just thought I would get a ‘balanced view’… watched the 2100 news bulliten on RT.
What a total joke and perfect example of misinformation and propaganda.

Apparently the main media station that is playing things completely balanced & neutral is ironically China with Beijing being absolutely scrupulous in reporting impartially & balanced, mainly due to the need to avoid upsetting either side.
I’m so glad that’s not dead yet.

So far the cyber warfare aspects seems to being conducted from a non-government personnel rather than anything organised militarily. It will be interesting whether this would mean for the cyber training side.
