Pay isnā€™t too bad either

Well it does read as though youā€™ll be managing a Pupil Referral Unit tooā€¦

Not quite a PRUā€¦ Perhaps a pre-PRU. An opportunity to reflect and modify their behaviours and avoid the PRU all togetherā€¦

Still a challenging role!!!

Colleague pinged this to me. Interesting role on the chequered blue side of cadet world.

Not a job opportunity, but an interesting job.

Not the best pay, but looks like an interesting role.

Also seen that theyā€™re hiring for a Social Media Officer at Ā£27k. Closing date 7 April.

Act as subject matter expert for tri-Service cadet issues

Desirable competencies 1
Previous MOD experience. Current or previous experience as a uniformed Cadet Force Adult Volunteer or as a member of a Cadet Training Team.

How can someone who is an ex army officer suddenly become an SME on the Tri service cadet forces with little or no experience beggars belief. It not even an essential requirement for the port. People with little or no experience of what the CFAV actually dose ends up in making running the organisation.

Interesting looking role on sea cadet website

Iā€™m more intrigued by this:

So they bring in paid staff to manage the overnight supervision of the cadets? Seems very sensible! Should allow the staff running activities during the day some proper down time.

If this paid more than Ā£28k PA Iā€™d be interested! But seems like a lot of responsibility for very little pay

Itā€™s about the right rate for SSIs & you get VA top up to 90days at SSI rate.

You get to claim for parade days as well so in two hour bursts rather than whatā€™s available to CFAVs

But itā€™s SSI & Head of Outdoor Experience. They are treating it as two separate roles pretty much. Even down to having two separate job descriptions in that PDF. They are suggesting approx 3 days SSI and 2 days Outdoor per week ish.

Itā€™s sounds like the CCF has a much more realistic idea of what it takes to run a unit than the ATC.

Yep only officers, No adult SNCOs. All using the same management system :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

The SSI is appoint by the MoD but employed by the school and is there to act as part of the day to day interface between the school & the MoD. There are also there to act as the volunteer coordinator for the CCF within the school similar to a WExO but without other staff.

Sorry just realised but this again quite common. One thing I had forgotten is one of the nuances of the education system. Whilst the wage listed is an annual salary itā€™s adjusted for term time work only.

So the Ā£28k p a is based on a 30week year rather than an 52 week (this varies a little between different academy trusts)

Nah, they want 47 42 weeks a year for the 28k. So even pro rata itā€™s not very muchā€¦
