Jacket
That doesn’t look to bad to be honest.
It’s not exactly RAF blue though is it
Looks to be a similar colour to the RN version.
Yeah, it’s pretty dark blue. There’s a couple of bits of it on fleabay that show the colour quite well.
Personally I like it, it’s too dark and too blue to work as a camouflage uniform - unlike the grey of the Hong Kong AC upthread - but it’s entirely practical.
I think it’s because it is the RN version that the RAF used to trial the idea.
I see we’ve now been asked to provide an input to the thinking around No 2 SD… Be interesting to see how much of an impact we collectively have!
We have?
Just done!
I don’t mind the no.2 uniform… my only real gripes, which aren’t that major…
- Please, please, please, tailor the shirts - they come up like a sail for those that don’t fill them.
- Open neck with jumpers would be good
- Can we use regular size guides on trousers; e.g. 32 Regular, the numbers make little sense at a glance.
Is this the survey that recommends the use of some sort of new PCS? I hope not - the uniform looks good when it fits.
Start point: fat people do not have 7ft arms.
Just mentioning that. For a friend.
No, no, no, no, no and no
With v necks looks awful - not much better with the old round necks - its just wrong
Tie wearing crazy person
Standards dear boy…
Now its Friday at 1700 so off to put on the smoking jacket and cravat and get my man to pour a G&T. Huzzah!
My main points were; quality is bloody awful, and if ss shirt is smart enough with an open collar, then so is the ls shirt.
What was it someone said? "the weather gets colder, not more formal, let is wear jumpers without ties.’
I also raised a point about the poor design with the epaulettes, and how they aren’t stitched on square with the shirt/sleeve seam.
I did get a tad excited over the lightweight jumper Q
You meant uniform looks good when available…
I like the idea myself, however i will feel a bit sorry for cadets at remembrance if its a bit cold!
Of course they can layer up underneath but…
