Alternatively particularly if your grandfather was active in the community of his town, you could see if the local town museum would welcome it as a donation / loan

Or see if any in the family are buffs and/or interested.

Don’t think anyone is in the buffs in the family.

Grandad was the mayor’s chauffeur at one point. I can see if the local museums an option.

There was some Buffs regalia sold on Flog It on BBC this evening.

yes i have - the local branch lay a wreath at my Village War Memorial each year. Despite being invited to attend formally, they choose not to instead attending the local town event, and someone drops by the memorial after to lay a wreath.

My granddad was a member of the order. We only found his membership book, but if I remember rightly he was a member in Belfast around the same time that he was a member of the Light Anti-Aircraft units of the Royal Artillery.

Doesn’t seem to have transferred his membership to England when he moved over in the 70s, though.
