As the owner of two pocketless shirts… they have not left the bag yet

I also remember a line like ā€œas of [date] all badges should be from the PTSā€. Aren’t they all from the PTS since 2017?

CTT SNCO’s

For the cyber / radio badges, the description talks about light blue lightning flashes, the the images show the lightning flashes in the same colour as the ā€˜C’. Which is it?

The radio ones all have blue flashes and the ā€˜C’ changes colour with the award. Cyber has flashes and the ā€˜C’ in the award colour (nicer IMO). But as they have merged cadets wear the highest from either stream and it will be pit luck which badge they get issued.

But which part of ACP 1358 is correct: the description, or the images that contradict it?

I suspect the text of a policy is authoritative and the images are only illustrative: but I also suspect the text is wrong, as the direction of travel is toward fully coloured badges.

I’d say the text is incorrect in this case, the confusion likely stems from the Blue radio badge which has the light blue flashes ā€˜doubling’ as the cyber badge. Given there was never a Blue cyber badge in its own right.

But then it depends what is actually supplied once current stocks run out. In our area we’ve been told to accept courses giving out whichever badge they have to hand, as long as the ā€˜C’ matches the award.

Can anyone share this for those of us who cannot access Bader?

Yes.

.

As VRTs aren’t mentioned in AP1358 (we don’t have access to 1358C) and only regular/UAS and RAFAC identifiers are mentioned, I’m tempted to ditch my VRT pins. I don’t even think clothing stores still stock them.

I suppose it could be argued that when the RAFVR and RAuxAF stopped wearing identifiers, UAS and DTUS were specifically called out as exceptions who would continue to wear VR identifiers. If VR(T) were not included in that exception then it follows that they would no longer wear them.

In addition, aren’t the gilt pins considered FOD and there’s no provision for embroidered VRT rank slides?

Indeed however 1358 did state that they were still to be worn with No2 and MTP. Regs did state that embroidered VRT slides were to be worn in flying clothing but when I spoke to HQAC (as it was) Accounts, they said we were unable to claim the cost back at £10 a pair. Most of our chaps gave the 2 fingers and just wear regular rank slides.

Could someone have a look in 1358C to see if VRT are still in there wrt identifiers?

Do you mean 1358C or ACP1358? Because I don’t think the former exists anymore.

ACP1358 replaced AP1358C

Ive done what i said i wouldnt do and sent the feedback upwards

ACP 1358 still has VRT pins for Nos 1 & 5 SD, and still includes the RAF TRF — only to be worn by RAFVR(T) — but I can’t see anything about VRT pins in working dress.
