Champion.
If you have a Defence Discount Service card you can get 20% off at Burger King. I know it’s not the same as McDonald’s (although I do prefer BKs chips) but it made me happy when I found out, although you do need to go to the counter to order as I don’t think you can do it on the touchscreen. Trying to be good though as lockdown hasn’t been good on the waistline.
Makes me laugh - struggling atm to think!
Best thing about BK is the Cheesy Jalepeno bites
Oohh they sound good. I like the fries and chicken fries but I think I overdid it on the latter. The oreo milkshake is very disappointingm
Yep, squeezing into uniform this week just about looking more portly WO than svelte Sgt
That’s why we have been exclusively in Greens since we came back
A lot of new Uniforms to order for the cadets - not sure if I need to be an overage cadet yet though but I have not tried mine
The plain old MOD 90 has often done that. Though it is at the discretion of the individual franchisee, rather than as a company wide policy.
Most helpful, in that I only ever eat that sort of over-priced rubbish when forced to stop at a motorway service station, and the discount almost brings it down to high street prices.
The nice thing about a stop at Cobham is that whilst 40 cadets rush off to queue at McDonalds, I can rock-up and get an 8am breakfast burrito with no wait.
You, sir, are an enlightened soul.
Starting the day with a whack of rice, refried beans, and Jalapeños… It’s a special treat.
I’m on paternity leave, but still doing odd video link cases.
This is a bad idea, I’m too tired for my job. For instance, judge just ordered the CPS to do X by 4pm tomorrow. I asked for a little leeway and for us to do it by 4pm Friday instead…
Jesus mate.
Just take the time.
Your wife / partner will appreciate the break and rest.
Plus you dont get the time back. Those first 2 weeks are some of the best snuggles.
I did no work during Paternity, and even had an extra two weeks on top, as we had shared parental leave.
I’ve arrived at the same realisation. It’s only short hearings, but I think I’d rather be sleeping.
I’m self employed, so a little work here and there means I can keep the leave going a bit longer.
It’s a hard one. I didn’t get paternity leave with number 2 having just changed jobs. They did wangle me a few days special leave for “looking after my spouse following an operation” (she nearly died from blood loss during a routine planned C-section) and then my boss allowed me to work from home for the remainder of the two weeks on a reduced workload. During the first two weeks the baby sleeps a lot so I could work between nappy changes and getting the baby out the Moses basket and giving him to my wife to feed as she wasn’t allowed to do the lifting.
But fitting that around hearings must be tough. I remember my first couple of hearings back after number one. I was so sleep deprived it was verging on negligence.
The beauty of video hearings is I don’t have to travel, but finding brain space to prep isn’t easy. I can take as long as I want really, but then funds become an issue.
In those early months the travel to court was a life saver for me. I became an expert at sleeping on the train and not missing my stop. But then with video hearings you don’t even need to worry about wearing pants. Telephone hearings are the best, I did a fair few of those in bed in my boxers
oh hello ladies
if we ever have an ACC fest, this is all people will now be able to think of when they find out who you are
My dream is a telephone hearing from the bath…
If you have an Alexa, ask her “when’s it coming home”
