You know what really makes me laugh?

Another Irish colony to go with the Ivory Coast?

He’s since had to apologise to her for being it up in public and to his team mate who won a gold medal that was completely overshadowed!

Was that the teammate that made a dedication to a deceased teammate or something like that?

Jesus…

Always a first i guess…

It would appear there are limitations to “try anything once”.

Yeah, I think the guy who won Gold dedicated it to their dead team mate and the guy who got Bronze cried about cheating on his Ex.

MML. Looking to see if I can fabricate a shed cheaper than buying one off the shelf. It only needs to be cheap and cheerful, so found myself on Argos website (as it was in the Top 3 Google hits).

What’s tickled me is the casual mixing of units on the Argos website…

  • Dimensions: H189, W202, D119cm.

  • Base size required: W6.2ft, D3.5ft.

Is the underlying assumption that groundworkers only understand Imperial Units, where as people buying a shed from Argos will probably work in metric?

It’s worse: is that 6.2ft as stated, or 6’2" as would be sensible?

It happens a lot in some trade sectors.

8ft fence, 6m long

Pool is 4m x 8m x 4ft deep
2" diameter pipe sold by the metre.

I suspect there’s some psychology around preference for rounder numbers, regardless of units.

3ft Vs 90cm
A mile Vs 1.6km
3 inches Vs 7.5ish cm
10k Vs 6 miles
8 stone Vs whatever that is in kilos
But perhaps 100kg vs whatever that is in stone
1 pint Vs 568ml
1l Vs not quite 2 pints

Though that clearly doesn’t apply to your Argos shed.

Wait a minute, that base size doesn’t even make sense for the size of shed…

202cm = 6’7” - so yeah, someone’s not quite got those aligned.

Breaking Bad fans review bombed A Knight if the Seven Kingdom’s on IMDB becaise an episode was 10/10, Game of Thrones fans have retaliated so Ozymandias is no longer. 10/10 and now Breaking Bad fans are all sulking, it’s hilarious!

The Sky Greats channel is currently showing Batman and Robin, that’s got to be an offence under trade descriptions.

They must’ve done that tongue in cheek

Cleared out the very last CRT computer Monitor from behind a cupboard in our sqn…

Had to give a history lesson to the cadets, as they had never seen one before.

“Why is it so heavy?”

“What’s behind the screen?”

“Wait, so it’s not HD?”

Probably not that one, but they did reach 1080i.

Maybe a HAHO opening would have done better…
