You know what really makes me laugh?

Not seen. Context?

Gen Z script video.

It’s great. I personally find those videos very cringy. But I get it. Just look at how much the video has been shared around within the RAFAC accounts alone, all positively. And most of the comments are fairly positive. Loads of companies are doing them. And you need a media team that can get on board with these types of ‘trends’.

You just have some people on places like @onlyforcesig who will poo poo almost anything. But those same accounts also don’t like any form diversity and inclusion so that sort of says it all.

Haha… sorry i was doom scrolling and forgot to paste the link :man_facepalming:

I like it. And I don’t spend a lot of time on Insta.

In David Attenborough’s voice (or Morgan Freeman’s), it’d be perfection.

Reminds me of the old Armstrong and Miller RAF sketches, isn’t it?

Yeah it’s a bit cringe. The main issue is that they missed the trend by a long way, jumping on the bandwagon too late is worse than missing it completely. But if people like it then people like it

Its better than most come and visit videos and is memorable. Tung firmly pushed into cheek.

I can’t stand it personally, but then I’m not the target audience for that particular advert. There are people that love that style of thing so there’s nothing wrong with running the ad. It’s not like they won’t be doing other forms of advertising as well which reach out to the boring old farts like me

I was laughing. Seems self aware, the flat delivery leans into the irony, and a smidge of visual humour as well.

It’s not actually trying to be “down wit da kids”, but it is trying to get their attention. If it was hyped and animated, that would be insincere; this way I think it’s more of a “laugh with” than “laugh at” scenario.

As someone who is responsible for a house full of Gen Z (I’ve 6 of them here at the minute), I can definitely say that it wasn’t a Gen Z that wrote that script.

The words weren’t quite used in the right way, and “slay” definitely wasn’t used anywhere near enough to be realistic (infantry soldier use the f-bomb less frequently than Gen Z use slay).

But it is a good Michael-taking of a Gen Z theme and feels like it’s deliberately designed to be somewhat cringey - more like when, as adult leaders, we deliberately use words such as bear, peaks and crepes incorrectly around kids who think they’re roadmen, just to antagonise them a bit.

And at the end of the day. We’re all talking about it. So it worked.

I agree with @WhiskeyNovember

I think the casting was spot on and the Sqn Ldr entered into the spirit of it :grinning:

What?

It’s bare in that context, not bear.

Not sure about crepes?

Of course this happened in Bucks

Better even that the match at Ampthill being abandoned after the referee had to be carried off after being hit in the face by a clearance kick.

Looking at a house tomorrow, just looking up info online. Somehow they think it would produce 2871 tonnes of CO2 a year to heat :joy::joy: Almost 400x more than an average house.

I think they’ve got the maths wrong there.
