The antidote really is to just have someone laugh at everything he says.
I am going to start using his statement “I have a concept of a plan” moving forwards.
News that the Pre-election Period has ended must have finally trickled down to RAF Luton
As always, the ‘nearly-headless’ discriminated against yet again. Nick had a point.
Recognise them from this chap on LinkedIn, who speaks a lot about how to manage them from a Project Sponsorship perspective:
More interesting than anything else.
Might give it a try next time I’ve got a CWS handy…
Not sure what happened here…
But it started life as an old style VW Beetle…
I think the owner might have tried to replace the front and rear ends with a new Beetle?
I’ve just found some new kit for the Fieldcraft exercises. . .
Imagine throwing some chips in the air fryer while on exercise!?
This would support dragging me out from the warmth and dryness
Is this the only way i can get you into the field?
Gotta have the proper creature comforts.

Need to get your Sqn generator repaired first…
I’ll never get over the idiocy of the current student loans system. And yes, this is my account.
When I graduated, the “debit balance” stood at £45k. In 7 years, it’s grown by over £16k even with (some) repayments being made. My total repayments to date are around £2.5k
Gotta be grateful for that 35 year cut off…
that seems utterly madness. how is £16k growth on a debt sustainable?
when the interest is more than 4 times the expected repayment the system is certainly broken!
I am old enough that my loan was only ~£3k a year, by the time i left it was ~£9500, which i had all paid off before i was 30.
but the struggle i had with the SLC to get them to start taking the payments from me once i started earning was frustrating, only match when i tried to pay off the outstanding last years payment off in one go - not allowed, i had to stick to the monthly payment through PAYE which they didn’t stop once it was paid off but continued for the next 9 months and then owed me that money back!
It’s now a graduate tax in all but name, where those in really well paid jobs get to finish paying the tax before the 35 year cut off. Not entirely fair.
And sorry for rubbing it in, but I paid mine off yesterday. 20 years to the day of moving into halls. The first 10 years I was either studying or the interest was higher than payments, but eventually I crossed that threshold with increasing salary and started to bring it down. I was on the old scheme though, no idea how you’re meant to do that on the new scheme
I think the only reason they don’t refer to it as a tax is that then those who move overseas wouldn’t need to continue paying it.
I’m now below the repayment threshold again anyhow, so I don’t owe anything whilst I’m here, but it does make me laugh every time I go onto their website and see the “pay off your loan” link. Even if I could repay it, I have better things to spend that much money on. And I’m certainly not repaying a loan that has grown in value by over ⅓ since I’ve taken it out when there’s no consequences for not doing so.
