You know what really makes me laugh?

You’ve clearly never tried to use a Clydesdale note south of Berwick :joy:

Yeah, you heard the guy, back to groats and bartering. Let’s decide that any new thing that doesn’t work at 100% instantly means that even trying is pointless.

The ferry pilot at work getting a Piper M500 (worth about $2m) getting stuck in the mud as he tried to squeeze past me whilst I was waiting at the hold.

Hope it was a private owner and there wasn’t someone waiting for him on the other end!

2 weeks ago after FOI requests - some of the CFS flying manuals were published

I’ll put this post here, as I went through a range of emotions:

Seeing the Army Cadets “sponsored” post on my timeline… a decent advert actually…

So it made me happy to see cadet forces being promoted.

I then read the comments, and they really grind my gears. Some real morons putting really negative comments on. Sad really.

Then I wondered if HQAC might get stuck in and promote instructor roles in the RAFAC…

Then I revisited the comments and some of them made me laugh, more in despair than with happiness.

Good on them for going for it.

A shame there are so many morons out there ready to put their “witty” and “funny” comments on a post, but that’s the danger of social media. I hope it works for them.

Have you got a link?

Just checked back and can’t find it now!

It was Army Cadets UK, sponsored - it was picture of an adult Sgt in full Fieldcraft kit and camo paint…

Words were something along the lines of “Do something amazing in 2021, become an Army Cadet instructor…”

Had 50 comments, overwhelmingly negative; things like “perfect job for a paedo” etc etc. Others just slagging off the army… only one or two positive comments.

But if it drives interested people to their website and to find out more then all power to them!

It was quite a striking advert - but I have a bias I guess. But it did look good to me.

Weird - their adverts have gotten lots of good engagement in the past when they’ve popped up for me.

This is not the same link as the 19 comments don’t seem funny to me warrant @anon9987823’s reaction but I also saw a sponsored advert (which I saved out of curiosity)

i found it interesting that this is being promoted now (posted 12 Jan) as we were very much in Lockdown3…a bit lost what it is trying to achieve if they are not recruiting

The one I saw at the time already had 50 comments, but was a link to the same video - the picture on Facebook was of an adult instructor with a quote…

It might be the same link if they had moderated the comments?

What a fantastic promo video though.

This could be a key point to recovery for the RAFAC though. Pump a similar advert out at the right time with wings regions geared up to support basic first class training with residential one off courses and boom head count issue resolved in months instead of years
