Was driving to an aviation medical in Reading.

Approaching a roundabout, I saw a car stop, then reverse back to take the junction I was going to take too. Could hardly see the driver, he / she was so small.

Called 999, advised them of my location; as I was giving the Police the vehicle details, because I had left quite a gap between my car & the other one, a Police car moved out from a junction & was then positioned between us.

I advised the call centre person - 30 secs later, the Police car activated the two’s & blues, & pulled over the suspect vehicle. I parked up, & went over to one officer who remained by his car - the other Police person was questioning the driver of the suspect car.

A few mins later, it became clear that I wouldn’t be required to make a statement. The youth in the other car had been in Reading Court about one hr before - with a charge of “taking a vehicle without permission.” And yes, of course the suspect vehicle wasn’t his! Not surprised, he was only 14!!

The Police officer said it was the easiest & funniest “pull” that they had had for ages!

I had one like that when I was a PC. It was Mum’s car and he was 15. We git her to come down as he wasn’t far from home, she started out with “yeah I let him drive it” to try and avoid the TWOC charge, soon changed her tune when she realised we were going to do her for use/cause/permit it to be driven without insurance.

He ended up being TWOC, not in accordance with a license and no insurance.

Spa day. Bloody great. Full back shoulder and neck massage, saunas, pool, hot tubs. I think I’ll be doing this again!

MMH. Taught the kids to play perudo a few summers ago - and it’s now a go to game for holidays.

On Sunday we played it for 3hours straight and laughed until we cried. And we’ve played a few rounds each evening since and they’ve continued to find it just as enjoyable.

Simple things.

The spitfire 90 flight commences today at 1300 BST, flying out of Southampton. The route keeps changing due to winds and fuelling, but I believe they are going high level, cutting across from Southampton to Maidstone, then past Southend and up to Wattisham, around Marham’s MATZ, and landing at Coningsby. It will be escorted by F35s and BBMF past Marham, landing with the BBMF at Coningsby at 1425.

Kid free weekend, lots of opportunity to do DIY…

Yesterday was…. “Get it all done… I’ve booked the Gurkha restaurant.”

I do love my wife…

We ordered from the menu, but with both of us on weight-loss jabs….couldn’t finish it all. Big doggy bag for dinner tonight!

We jokingly asked for the dessert menu, because “we never knew you had one… we’ve never managed to get there, and wanted to see if it exists”

Damn. Waking up to some good news for a change.

What a win too. 138 seats to 55? With almost an 80% turn out!

Also a lovely embarrassment for Trump, Vance and Putin who ask very vocally supported Orban!

LHR. So you know it’s time for overpriced airport booze.

Going to need to be sensible as I’m going to have to drive on the other side. But I can’t bag drop for two hours….

FWIW about the EES, I had family fly into Geneva yesterday morning, and although it was busy, it was quick. As normal the queue was caused by people checking passports, not the EES machines.

Good luck getting to that hire car desk!
