Finally got round to insulating my loft hatch.
Now the thin piece of plywood, has some suitable insulation on it, to fill the void.

Fixed my mitre saw blade guard all by myself. AND recognised the issue before anybody lost any fingers. AND didnāt lose any fingers in the process either. AND it still works.
Iām going to sit in the corner looking smug for the rest of the evening. Also. Iām not going to touch anything else in case my luck runs out.

Just dropped the car to the local garage during a break in the weather tonight, so they can start work in the morning.
Live in a small village, and on my walk back, passed three defibrillators, and know thereās another two elsewhere.
And its not a big village.

New intake coming up in Jan for junior cadets. Sent out forms to our waiting list (never had a waiting list before 6 months ago).
There are very nearly as many people on the list as we have cadets.
Within 20 minutes, we had more returned forms than places and have had to direct people to other squadrons, a reserve list and our next intake in April.

I also have a wait list that if all joined would more than double our cadet numbers
Weāre in a similar position, how are you handling the applications? First come first serve, by age, or something different?
Weāve had consistently higher intakes than before Covid, our limitation is now that we donāt have sufficient staff for us to take on all the potential cadets who want to join.

Nothing differently at all. I think itās a combo of not recruiting during covid and parents wanting to send their children outside after 2 years of being stuck in.

Weāre doing first come, first served at the moment. We try and give priority to people who missed out on our last intake but managing it is quite hard. We also have people on the list who arenāt old enough yet, because they heard there was a wait so wanted to get their names down early!
