I prefer āwatercraftā as this is a nicely ambiguous definition. Because I definitely need a white water SUP, a composite sea boat and a Venture Afonā¦ and a new (bigger) boat rack.

From what Iāve heard of Afon quality control. You donāt need one.
I saw an Afon in the wild a few weeks back. Well, I saw its belly more than I saw anybody in it. It needed a new owner, its current one was struggling to manage it and really didnāt deserve it.
The only quality control issue related to itās driver; one of those āall the gearā types.
My friend bought one and it split on the first trip, (Not even WW) apparently they are renowned for it. He sent it back, got a refund and bought a Pocket Canyon instead. (Such a nice boat)
Should have reported the owner to the RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Boats) and offered to adopt it there and then.

On a lockdown-built boat rack at the back of my house 
7 if you count the SUPs, but they donāt live on the rack.
9 at the moment (albeit itās split between 4 of us). Iām thinking Sea Kayak next; although Mrs BF did voice the potential need for a trailer as weāre struggling to get all 4 of us away without somebody having to tandem with a child - and to quote a popular memeā¦ āAint nobody got time for datā
As a squadron, we own:
6 x open canoes
2 x SoTs
6 x SUPs
4 x Closed cockpit Kayaks
My rank braid should be wavy.

Using it is more challengingā¦
But you can buy one.
